No you just don't understand the wonders of the crocs. Don't hate what you don't understand
That's like saying "it's a jeep thing. You wouldn't understand". Oh I understand. That's why I don't own one... lol

Typical saddle hunter buy out. Cross that with prime climbing season approaching and they can't make em fast enough. I like mine and won't sell it but boy is it tempting.Crazy…did I miss something? Why has the price doubled? Did they stop making safeguards or what..
maybe i got a special one last season…used oplux all year and it never slipped once. Or maybe I’m just lucky. Still isn’t slipping. would like to see a video of the slippage tho.Only if you use the out of spec rope for it.
Yeah I’m in the same boat as you and I’ll be doing that again this year. Even when i hunted in pa with a damp frozen grope I didn’t slip…I think people aren’t holding/controlling the tag end of their rope in a lot of these situations.maybe i got a special one last season…used oplux all year and it never slipped once. Yeah man, I gave up and decided I’m just gonna run the Spypoint micros, free pics so…Typical saddle hunter buy out. Cross that with prime climbing season approaching and they can't make em fast enough. I like mine and won't sell it but boy is it tempting.
Kind of like people hoarding tactacams til they are out of stock and getting $200 each on ebay

I got rid of the safeguard pretty quick after using it a few times. Went to the petzl micro traxion for ascending and a small figure 8 for coming down(add autoblock below for safety). Not only was the madrock loud, heavy, and bulky if used to hunt from, but it was herky jerky on the way down too. The micro trax is 1/3 the size, 1/3 the weight, and was a no brainer for me.
The only trade off would be for those who like to stay on the madrock without changing over while hunting. I always came off it and used my tether/duck to hunt so for me it was all gain, no loss.
I actually have a new one I don't really need if anyone is interested in trying it

This is getting a bit ridiculous. That is going beyond not having tension on the device and actually purposefully making it slide down the line.go to 2:18 and behold the impossible
The WHOLE point of the Madrock over every other device is that it won’t slip down a slack line while you are f’n around with your one stick. That’s the only thing it (sort of) does that every other belay device won’t. So don’t jump on and act like that doesn’t matter. Again, that’s the WHOLE point of the thing. This is getting a bit ridiculous. That is going beyond not having tension on the device and actually purposefully making it slide down the line.
"They slip when not under tension" is not what this video is showing. Thanks for proving this. Put any of those devices on the line and walk away and see if they fall down. That would be a long video.
As long as the end of the tether attached to your bridge is below the device, the device is never going to slip.
I’m a flip flops guy…dont much care for crocs. But as a retired navy guy, thats one of the reasons we served—-the freedom to wear (shoot, climb, drive, eat, drink) whatever we want!!! So rock on in your crocs, and thanks for your service/sacrifice.Lol this forum transition to Crocs is epic. As a retired Army guy I can tell you Crocs on a deployment in Afghanistan are a must! They’re also great for a day at the beach or grilling. Leave Crocs alone!
