"Don't know my own strength" LOL

How much do the modified helium sticks weigh? On an actual scale?

I just weighted mine. 2.2 pounds per stick with no attachment method or aider on it. That is 21" from the top of the top step to the top of the bottom step when they are folded down.

Hickstick you are not alone. I’ve had the exact same issue and for the same reason that tradesmen 4 identified.

I've straighten mine and put them at the top of the bag so I use them at the bottom of the tree. They are fine. The rope was on top of one side so all the pressure from camming it down was all on that leg. Greg

for three sticks, with 1/4" amsteel attached to a versa button, one long aider, and two small bungies to keep it together - total weight is right at 7 #s.... my kitchen food scale measures it at 7.01 I believe. I think my actual sticks are running very close to 2.1 - 2.2 pounds per stick.I know this, I do not feel the weight when added to my pack. I could probably shave a few ounces off by drilling some additional holes throughout the stick and reducing the versa button down just a tad, I could also use amsteel to make my moveable aider and get this system to around 6.5 pounds - but why? there comes a time when good enough is, well, good enough. I remember the days of trying to lug steel climbing sticks into the woods... I am forever grateful that I have a 7 pound system that allows me to climb any tree I want and get to a very reasonable height (if I want to go higher it is easy to one stick it once or twice to get to any height I would ever want to get to).

Truth is if that I want to further reduce weight for my hunting system the #1 place I can get the most bang for my buck lies just south of my bellow button - and I am working on that down 34 pounds since Sept.

I know there is mention of new sticks coming out that will weight 1.4 pounds per stick with everything on them - I will believe that weight when I see it - if Dan was able to actually pull that off for a 24 inch stick I am impressed and will buy a set either way just because of all he does to promote hunting and for all the assistance he has personally gave to me, and so many others over on the HB site.
