Dump Pouches, Saddle Sag and Science

my saddle and tether are a1 peice system and even with a linemens it dosnt need any pouches. and is too light weight to sag.its not 2 pounds soaking wet.thats the advantage of diy.i hunt with a fanny pack.keep my knife in it.but i dont let either system get inthe way of each other.keep them seperate and use a sling bag for climbing steps when needed .works great together.for organization.i pu t my pants on then put my saddle on and grab my fanny pack.im probably the only one who whears his saddle in the car and with the linemens and teather.they dont even get in the way of the seatbelt.
I wear my saddle in the car hahahaha

What amazes me is the mountain man and natives crossed this country w/a possibles bag and flintlock. Yet we have to have the microwave and all else to hunt for an afternoon sit. If we bought into all the tools you have to have to kill a deer, We'd have to buy a Gator to get to the woods....

I do have trouble fitting the microwave, lol (disclaimer, this is NOT my saddle). I keep my linemans attached on the left and stash it in a pouch on that side. Have my tether in a pouch on the right. Main reason I use them is I use 4 mini hawks and I have a loop of paracord on each dump pouch (cause yes, they have molle loops on 'em, I mean why wouldn't they, right?) so 1 stick goes on the tree, second goes around my neck (using the single webbing aider) and one onto each pouch to dangle out of the way. I stash my predator XL on the right using a big ol' nite ize and keep my pack on climbing. Everything I need right there within reach until I get my platform set and pull my pack out (to plug in the microwave and satellite TV........lol)

I used to carry a lot more than I actually needed years ago. I've gotten rid of most of it. However, I do like pouches on the saddle to be honest. I tried without and didn't like all the getting ready at the tree. Left side is my tether and linesman and right side is my tree strap (holds pack/bow) and my pull up rope. What I found was at hunting height it was easier to grab what I needed out of my pouches than it was to hang my pack then go digging. I wear my XC saddle in and tighten up the belt really good. I don't have any issues with it falling down. The belt does loosen easily with it being that seatbelt material but again when its around my weights and tightened it doesn't loosen up for me

I've never liked anything hanging from my saddle...I always felt like that guy we all made fun if in college you'd see hiking that looked like a yardsale...mess kit hanging from their pack, sleeping pad strapped horizontally, sleeping bag on top of the pack. Stuff sack with snacks dangling, Nalgene clipped with a biner somewhere else... backpack git fanny pack for me...yeah we made fun if the fanny pack guy on the trails too...but then mountainsmith came out with the "lumbar" pack and made it cool
