Entire setup...5.25 lbs

Im hunting exclusively private land this year. I don't see myself ever using any thing other than bolts again...ever...these are that magical. Hell I can carry a traditional back quiver, wear my saddle, and put everythig else in my POCKET!!!! No excuses to not hunt from height, even with limited time.

If you’re going to leave them in the tree, why would you want titanium? Grade 8 bolts is probably you least expensive option and if you are leaving them in the trees then there’s no issue with carrying in extra weight.

My bad. I thought you said you WOULD leave them in the tree. My dyslexia at work again.

I decided to plasti dip my Carbon bolts. One rubber band on the non plasti dip part and they slide out nicely. If you put a rubber band around the plasti dip part they don’t slide out very easily but it sure keeps them in a tight snug bundle.

Nice! If I decided I didnt like the noise/etc I was just going to di a quick wrap in electrical tape--which I can easily get in red, orange, yellow, blue, glow in the dark i believe, whatever! These look pretty darn professional thought!!!

Did you scuff them up before applying or did em slick?

Holy fricken cow! I just climbed 2 trees with a borrowed hand drill and bolts...a black walnut (soft, thick bark so it was extremely easy to start the hole) and a hard-ass shagbark hickory. I wondered if the drill would start as easily in hard bark. NO SWEAT! I ordered my own as fast as I could log on.
BTW 20% off coupon available on the EZ Kut site.
Now, I just have to decide which bolts to get...steel, carbon or titanium??
Man, this Saddlehunter site is costing me money! Kestrel, Amsteel, Ropeman, Predator, now a hand drill and bolts. Fun spending money on this kind of stuff.
Might sell one of my sets of sticks...maybe the Muddys.

No scuffing. I’ll see how it holds up over the next few hunts and if it’s a problem I’ll let you know.

It is a sweet way to roll. Did you get a hand drill that is quiet enough to use while hunting? Someone on here said they use one that is fairly quiet and the use mattress over it or something to keep the noise down. Lol not really a mattress but you get the idea. I just keep thinking that’s more weight and more stuff to schlep around.

I didn't use a cordless drill, I used a Woodpecker hand powered drill...basically the same drill is available from EZ KUT.
I drilled holes almost as fast as I can screw-in a cheap ass Ameristep screw-in. EZ Climb screw-in are faster but the difference isn't much compared to the hand drill. And I can undo bolts in a quarter of the time that it takes to unscrew steps. Bolts store smaller and easier in a pack than any type of screw-in and are a bunch cheaper, too. Man, I'm in love with this bolt thing!

Got ya. You’ll really go nuts when presetting and using a cordless drill. That’s crazy fast and easy.

I was waiting for this :)
Rock west composites
0.375x96" $64.99
$35 to have them cut to 6"
$11 shipping.
What does it take to diy cut carbon? I've cut carbon arrow shafts with a dremmel but is cutting this solid stuff any different? Angle grinder? Hack saw? What is the proper tool? Trying to save $35.

They recommend a high speed wet saw to keep the heat and dust down. A tile saw would work.

Did you get a quote on shipping an 8’ rod? Might be more expensive than the cuts

Didn't get a quote on 8 foot.
But I did read one sentence on another site on how to cut and it said improper cutting can ruin a rod. Probably not worth dyi if there is a chance of damaging a rod...especially when it will be stood on at 20 feet off the ground.

I've wondered why no one has made a carbon fiber stand/platform. Assumed it was the same disadvantages as bows, unexpected creaks and no warning failures. Carbon fiber is susuceptable to degradation from Nick's and the epoxy binder can weaken from temp and UV.
