EWO UP one stick or the OOAL Slick Rick one stick

I'm having trouble deciding between the 2 of these. I've watched countless videos and read numerous posts about the EWO one stick. The Slick Rick is fairly new so there isn't as much content to look at. Interested in feedback if there is any. Thanks
 
Doubt you will be disappointed either way. The EWO is solid. Not much to complain about. How do you like to pack your stuff? Would folding the platform give you a big advantage? My EWO packs well for me. Strap to a pack nicely.
The only use difference I can see, would be a little more platform to stand on the bottom. On a all day sit, being able to let your tether out and stand on the bigger lower platform for a little bit could offer some change of pressure and view. I can do it some on the EWO. But not for very long. I can't confirm it actually does that. But would be the only reason it has me interested in one. if I plan to sit all day I usually bring my predator along as well since I have a short walk.
So not enough to trade away my EWO.
 
IMO, the EWO is the gold standard. It’s a solid piece of gear, quality build, solid on the tree, no moving parts. That said, I don’t live in a vacuum and there are now several quality sticks on the market. Truthfully, if you end up liking one sticking, you will probably be happy with whatever you buy. We had a saying in the Navy “What’s the best aircraft in the Navy? The one you fly!” And that seems to hold true with saddle gear too. Majority seems to think that whatever they are using is the best, so obviously they are happy and I’m sure you will be too. So buy with confidence and focus on learning how to use whatever you buy well. Good luck!
 
Have used the EWO, Slick Rick and Big Bob. Each have their inherent advantages but overall I favor the Big Bob. As with most products to each their own but try as many as you can to find your sweet spot.

Isn’t the Big Bob the same as the slick Rick other than the folding lower part? Just curious why you prefer that one in particular.

I am a fan of the fewer moving parts on the Big Bob especially while one-sticking

I've had the Slick Rick for about a month now and climbed with it quite a few times and must say I love it, especially the ability to fold it up. It packs really easy. I also bought a three step aider and some EWO squirrel steps which I've been setting up with the stick and wow this setup has great potential. I guess the real test will be hunting out of it for an extended period of time but so far so good.
Just an FYI I'm new to saddle hunting and wasn't sure what type of climbing method I would like so I bought the slick Rick and a set of Novix sticks and a Mission Platform. Coming out of a climber I had no experience with sticks/ Platforms or a 1 stick. I've been trying each method. I'm finding the 1 stick seems to be what I like most. I'm sure the EWO stick is great also since everything I"ve bought from EWO is top quality.
Also if you don't like moving parts the bottom of the stick comes with a pin to lock the bottom step so it doesn't move. I don't bother even bringing the pin anymore because once the step is folded down it locks in great. Hope this helps.
 
Big Bob for me. Only complaint I have is I don’t get to hunt out of it as much as I’d like. It’s a great piece of gear.

I’m a huge OOAL fan. I own the podium platform too. I bought my nephew a podium platform. If I ever buy another platform, it’ll be made by OOAL. Besides producing superb gear, he’s just a great guy to do business with.

I’ve bought a lot of stuff from EWO’s too. But, I’m a “if it ain’t broke” kinda guy.

That coating OOAL uses should be on every platform made imo.
