Extreme Temp Changes In The Same Sit

Thanks for the suggestions, I will look into all of them and see what works best for me

I have a long hike to the stand an always had the same issue. I bought these last October, and cold feet no more. On the lowest setting, the battery lasts 8 hours. I bought an extra set of batteries for this season for the all-day sits.

I also bought this as well and highly recommend it:

I have no idea if this is going to work... But I am going to wear darn tuff socks like usual in my uninsulated lowa tibets, and when I get to the tree slip a couple toe warmers in there, those disposable things, take them back out for the walk out, I don’t sit all day or anything anyways, feet are the biggest pain for me, I walk in a long ways.

Keep in mind the toe warms will stop working once they use up all the oxygen inside your boots. I figured this out a couple years ago using them. Worked great for about an hr maybe then they went cold. Soon as I took em back out they heated back up. Just some food for thought.

Thanks I did not know that, I mite try those battery socks up above ^^^^ then, cold feet is my only problem and I hunt in some nasty cold weather.

I had the same issue and think I finally figured it out. Baffin Titan Rubber Boots with a set of heavy wool socks. I ran these last season here in WI where we get nasty cold weather as well. Feet never got cold on me once on an all day sit. Really is about taking ones time getting to and up the tree without sweating. If I had really sweaty feet I would use the antiperspirant on the bottoms of my feet the night before like many have mentioned doing here. As I don’t have sweaty feet I just run the socks and boots.

Haven’t seen the socks, thought about a vest but my core is usually good. I have some of the battery heated insoles but they aren’t comfy for long walks. Changing socks at the stand is one thing, insoles is another.

Thanks for the suggestion though. Got a few options. Have some good wool socks so gonna try the antiperspirant, nylon sock liners, and wool. And if that don’t do it try a sock swap at the tree

i have had a couple of sits where it was in the 20 in the am and 90 by noon. i like the style of insulated coveralls that zip up on the side. walking (2-3 miles) in the sides are unzipped. I have a walk in hat, that gets sweaty. Switch to dry hat after i start to cool down. Jacket, shirt is normally layered under armor.

I hunted most of November in uninsulated boots last season, temps from 0-30* I walk out in just the boots taking my time, then once I get to the stand I’ll either change socks or not depending on how far I walked. Then I put those air activated foot heaters in, now tie your boots loose so you can wiggle some air in as you sit. I then put on those arctic shield boot covers with a big hot hands hand warmer sitting over my toes on the outside of my boot. Never got cold feet and sat 3 plus days a week in below freezing temps
