F in chat ... Dropped my new bow out of the tree and broke the sight..

Yeah, I was eyeing the spot hogs, my budget just couldn’t afford one at the moment. Hopefully I’ll just avoid dropping my bow 20ft on the future and can avoid this issue lol.
No one plans to drop their bow. For me that chit just happens. Sometimes at the WRONG time. Several years ago I was in a new stand. No bow hanger so I hung it on a limb. It was iffy. It was barely hanging there but it was all that I had. Anyway later 2 big bucks were coming in following a doe 100yds away. I reached over to get it. I bumped it and down it went 22' through a bunch limbs etc. Not Good! They were still far away and didn't see or hear it. They were going to be in my lap in minutes. I had no chance w/ my bow on the ground so I decide to take a chance.. I was looking at them over the crest of a hill. I knew that if I snuck down below the crest that they wouldn't see me for most of my decent and accent. Risky but possible. I got down. Put it on the rope and snuck up. The bucks never saw me but She busted me as I was swinging onto the stand. She took the big 10 pt w/ her. The big 8 was clueless and came in to 35 yds. He gave me a perfect shot. Truthfully if he was at 15yds I would have been temped to shoot him. He was WIDE but had no mass. I let him pass so he could grow up. The hunt didn't work out but The bow and sight came through unscathed. The next morning I killed a 135" 11 pt. Perfect shot. A broken sight would have taken me out of the game. Instead I was able to keep on hunting instead of wasting my valuable hunting vacation time going to the archery shop, purchasing another sight, sighting in, etc. Priceless IMO. Life is full of lessons. What lesson did I learn? Don't skimp on quality/durability and carry an extra frigg'n bow hanger!
