I hunt from sept thorough feb. in NJ / PA. usually from mid to late -dec through feb, I tend to use a climber and a heater body suit at this time. My old cabelas bibs and jacket are not up to the task of late season.

I have an opportunity to get Sitka fanatic bib and jacket combo for $780 out the door. For those with experience, do you think they will be adequate for late season? And do you think this is a good $ deal or not? And what about fanatic versus incinerator?

I would use the Sitka to hunt out of the saddle. Just need to not freeze late season. Thx!

I’ve used both now. The fanatic is awesome for bowhunting and I really enjoyed using it. It kept me pretty warm in single digit temps with proper layering. As I type this I’m sitting in a tree with the full incinerator set on. This is probably a bit warmer than the fanatic and less bulky. It is louder than the fanatic which bugs me a bit and also sticks to the bark on trees. My sit this morning started at -3 and warmed up too 7 when I left the tree this am and I was comfy in the incinerator and first lite wool layers under. Hope that helps

The fanatic is great. When the temp drops below 30 the fanatic comes out.

where are you from?

The retail store has my size (xxl bib, xxxl jacket) in fanatic. But no incinerator. One thing I observed, with the xxxl jacket, I barely had enough room in the arms for a long sleeve shirt. Feels like I won’t be able to do much layering.

My cabelas mt050 are on their last legs. Need something new for the cold weather.

$780 nope
late season very good
both just as warm one with goretex I'd go with silent and lose some weight.

Not sure how to read your reply. Do I need to lose some weight? Is $780 a bad deal? Incinerator or fanatic a better deal? Please disambiguate.

oh okay... I am in northern NJ. I have the 2019 XL set I would let you check out before dropping the coin.

I appreciate the offer. I tried them today. The fanatic, that is.

Still pondering the incinerators for late season.

I didn't get to wear the fanatic system in frigid weather this year, western NC warmed up just before I arrived. It was absolutely perfect at 30F with a wind chill in the teens. With an extra layer I'm sure single digits wouldn't be a problem. Last year I froze wearing uninsulated bibs and jacket, I was very pleased with my purchase. I drive a crappy car but don't skimp on high priced items where it makes since. For me, whatever makes all day sits in the saddle comfortable is worth it.

I got the fanatic this year. But temps have only been down to mid 20s with some strong winds. In those conditions fanatic does a great job. I think it will work for me down into the single digits. If your bow hunting I don't think you can go wrong with it. It's dead quiet, pretty much negates any wind chill... Only cons are bulk if your packing it in and the berber picks up burrs. If you mostly gun hunt incinerator probably the way to go.

I went with the First Lite Sanctuary bins and jacket to replace my Heater Body Bag.
I did an allday sit late season Ohio 8*F. Worked great.

I prefer the incinerator over the fanatic. I have and use both but the incinerator is more packable and warmer. I've been using the fanatic with minimal layering in the 30's to more layering down the low 20's now. I've used it in the past into the teens. At this point once I hit the teens I'll go with the incinerator and add layering as needed.

The fanatic jacket / bib is nice, but IMHO its not $450 nice per garment. I was telling a couple guys I hunt with that its a $300 rig all day long, but I am not sure its quite worth the MSRP.

I been looking at the two options as well. Ran across the Kryptek Aegis and that looks pretty nice. Jacket and bibs less than one Sitka piece.
