Fanny or dump pouches?

Does anybody use a Fanny Pack instead of attaching dump pouches to their saddles? If so what kind? I am tired of having my saddle be uncomfortable when I’m walking in and out cause of my pouches and ropes hanging down.

Been messing with a battle belt to haul pouches and double as a backrest. It's got padding, sits on the hips and was made to carry a load. Seems to work well. My only issue is not i have 3 belts (pants, saddle and battle belt). While not uncomfortable, it does add fiddle factor to my morning dump in the woods.

I would use the battle belt but I want something that will hold my ropes and gear strap as well as my clippers and other things. I also want the ability to just spin it around as I need it

With dump pouches that shouldn’t be an issue. I’ll load mine up heavy and see how it works.

Most fanny packs I’ve used require either periodic tightening or shoulder straps with a heavy load which would prevent the spinning around to access you mentioned.

I guess I’d have to just play around with it. I’d adjust my weight by subtracting items from the Fanny pack that way I’d still be able to spin it around.

I've switched to a fanny pack this season but still have (1) dump pouch on my side. the fanny pack I found has a single sling shoulder strap, helps with the load and still can swing it around as you mentioned.

Maybe adding some belt slider bars to hold the webbing in place. The two most comfortable straight fannys I’ve used have been a cabelas whitetail series model I still have and a Tenzing 721 (I think that’s the model). Both are older and no longer in production. Tenzing makes an “updated” version with integrated hand muffs.

I’ve tried the monster and the Tenzing 1250. They are large, lots of pockets and really need the harness when loaded. I’ve found I do not like lots of zippers and pockets on my fanny packs.

A smaller backpack might be a idea also, I have a cheapo one from the fleet store with just a main section, and a small pocket on front with a few molle attachments on it. that seems to work well so far.

I find a bigger pack leads to carrying more stuff, but if you inventory your stuff and only carry what you need it's a good solution.

Its from Amazon, it mimics a maxpedition sabercat (no longer produced). I ordered the large size. The Sitka tool belt looks sweet but a lot of $$$

I’m running the MR Tree house right now. It sits high enough on my hips to where a smaller Fanny would fit perfect like the badlands tree wrap. I just wish it was a little bigger.

Does the treehouse allow for pouches to be added to the belt? You can gets some pouches as big as a fanny pack.

I have a Sitka tool bucket and fanatic pack. I wish it had a waist best with pockets. I am gonna look more into that amazon pack
