Feedback on LWCG V2 Doubles

Not mine, I just pulled that pic from google.

Still, that means you have a 1/4“ protrusion for stacking alignment (3 3/8 minus 3 1/8) right? Seems like maybe a lot. Can’t remember what the instructions said. I thought my sticks were about 3.5” table to tips and have enough of a nub to align them.

Splitting hairs I suppose. They certainly are in the group of sticks on the market with lesser standoff spacings.

About 1/8 out the front side. If I measure the whole standoff as if it were flush in the v1, I still only get 3 1/4. They must shortened the bolts on the v1 between that pic and when I got mine.

I think the instructions were something like, once flush, add x turns. But theres no way to get 3.5 out of my V1s.

@thebootbowhunting im at 9.5 on most shoes, similar to you so I’m not expecting any difficulty with it

Look, Im not saying they are spacious. Im not trying to be ego'd up here, but for the sake of this conversation, Im probably more athletic than most. Again, only saying that for context. I also wear either Crispi Thor or Hanwag Makra Combis when I climb. Stiff boots make the short standoffs a bit easier to deal with. For me, I think their weight and packability are worth it. But Im not going to say they are anything like the novix trophyline doubles or even the lwcg compacts. Theres a trade off for sure.

I have compacts, measure them at 4 3/4. Id pick the V2s in all cases except when Im wearing alpha burlys. Which for me is rare, and if I do Id probably just take the climber. If you wear muck/lacrosse more often, I might think twice about the V2s.

I probably just added to the confusion, I apologize for that.

@thebootbowhunting what aiders form bwmg are you running with them?

The 2 step multi-step aiders with bottom step loops. The double sewn 2 step aiders from hang free are pretty similar and $20 cheaper, but the BWMG just feels a bit more durable. The bwmg also has a piece of elastic cord connecting the step loops that makes them less likely to come off. The hang free doesnt have that piece sewn in. I used both, didnt have issues with either. Both come with castration bands to fix the loop on the step.

I think the compact doubles are custom gears best sticks if you can deal with the fiddle factor.

Any reason you couldn’t swap the doublesteps from the top of a compact double with the bottom step of a regular compact stick?

Not 100% sure the shape is the exact same. But I don’t see why it wouldn’t work.

Would one recommend these over the Micro doubles?

Got my 1 V2 that I ordered the other day. Still waiting on the micros

But have to say overall pretty impressed with it out of the box. Loud, but it’s metal, nothing some shrink wrap and tape can’t improve.

How are people getting sewn aiders onto these like I’ve seen in some videos? Or am
I just missing the connections

Gonna have to loop them over the steps.

Mine are looped on the bottom step and held on with a castration band.

I believe the ones Ive seen Cody from LWCG using, he has the webbing going though one of the cutouts in the bottom step, and then basically a stopper knot on the backside preventing them from coming back through.
