Finished “Frankenstick”

Not having had an artisan or scout in hand, would you mind sharing just what it would take to make one like this using a piece of 1 inch tube? I love the extra space you have there with both but want to make sure I understand I can do it without any special tools.
I have another artisan and scout arriving tomorrow for another stick. I will see what I can put on video or pictures. It was shockingly easy. Just drilling a hole or two.

if you care to share...how did you obtain/find that upper semi open bracket that holds the upper strap/buckle under the platforms?
That is from the original XOP sticks. They use that piece to lock the sticks together. I cut it down a little and it works nicely.

I was thinking of making that piece from kydex and gluing it to platform or a counter sunk screw. Glue first that way I see if I like it as I tend to like my steps at level or several inches above my platform so I will try it lower to see if it will work for me

What you all think of the paint job? I used a rattle can brown multi color texture paint. Of course @Squatch doesn’t like it but that’s to be expected.

Loved learning about the pull handle I saw in a “Staggs in the Wild” YouTube video.
Great stick! You asked about the paint job and all I can say is that the color of brown on your stick does not camouflage too well against that tree in your photo. I would incorporate the exact colors of that tree in your photo...some dark and light grays and light greens. But if your not really trying to make the stick disappear, it looks fine. Brown is an Earth tone. If you like it, that’s all that matters. At 20 plus feet, I’m not sure the deer are analyzing the color too much as long as it doesn’t stick out like a sore thumb.

I've thought about that too. I'm not sure using the white oak was the best idea for the picture but it was the closest one to the house and i was in my pj's still. Might add some gray camo in there soon.
