First Time Climbing with Spurs

I may be wrong but any sound climbing by any means has to be quieter than a climber. just a observation.

That's right...been using my climber some....that thing is so loud and gawky that it p----es me off just walking thru the timber with...not to say taking apart and putting on the tree

I've been using my spurs a good bit this year but only during the windy days because the leather of the t pads squeak.
How can I get the squeak out of the t pads?

Leather conditioning oil should help. Don't use anything like you would for a baseball glove, such as hot glove, because it would soften it a bit too much.

It would probably work. I think it has beeswax in it, don't know if that would add to the squeakiness or not. Maybe leather honey or leather milk?

Wh
To think I used to haul that 25lb climber all over the woods!
You know what's funny about that? When we hauled those behemoths thru the woods, it didn't bother us a single bit because at the time it was relevant and the best option available.

You're absolutely right. And I killed my biggest buck ever (my avatar) out of my climber. They work!

Honestly, I'll still use mine every now and again when it's really cold and I want to use my heater body suit.

Let's be honest!!! A good comfortable climber is an absolutely essential addition to a deer hunter's arsenal. I have a Summit Specialist SD with the sling style mesh seat. 13 pounds. Very nice and there are several places that I use it during the course of the season.

Funny, I agree with everything said about a climber. Perfect for those all day sits when comfort is preferred. I also like mine for use with the IWOM. Probably the best advantage of the climber is the comfort for long sits and that I can sit perfectly still for hours. I have a summit viper and open shot. Also have a titan...but its huge. I usually end up leaving that around a tree on private land....so I have a quick spot to go to if needed in cold weather.

Now, that ive really gotten used to the spurs..im wanting some of those nice light weight models...Im using the buckingham's with L pad. I just need to quiet down the buckles a little. But it hasnt been too bad noise wise. Definitely quieter than a climber.

Change out the leather/metal straps for webbing/plastic buckles. I got the idea from @flinginairos and it works much better. It's quieter, faster, lighter, and quieter. It's also quieter.

G2, I was looking for a set and had a hard time finding them...do you have a link?

I ended up making my own straps from webbing and buckles I had laying around

Does anyone have any ideas on how to replace the Velcro on the climb right aluminum pads? They are supposedly the most comfortable out there by far, but the noise of the Velcro is a no-go.

I made my own out of a camo ratchet strap and some military issue 1" buckles. It was a pretty simple process.
