Anybody catch redeye? They're everywhere in the creeks near where I live. They don't get very big, but they fight great on an ultralight rig.

I used to catch a good many on the lower stretches of my small stream. Here is an article on redeyes you might find interesting.

Great read! The first red eye bass I ever caught was up in Pennsylvania behind my uncles house in a little stream. I’d target them every summer we would visit. I grew up in mobile which isn’t there natural habitat and wouldn’t have even known they are in Alabama till I read that. Makes sense though. Northern parts of Alabama have the small foothills and streams, I could see them living there. Speaking of which, I would have never thought Alabama would have trout either, but they do! My dad and I are going fishing the Sipsey Fork tomorrow. They are stocked trout but still loads of fun. I hope to have some catch and cook photos soon.

The other Sipsey in W. Alabama is the one I fish. Most of the redeyes we caught were in it’s lower stretches where there is lots of gravel. I don’t fish those sections much anymore, but the area I mostly fish is full of big spotted bass.

Hard to catch a true Redeye in SC anymore since the BASS poets started illegally releasing spotted bass. This is a Redeye/Spotted hybrid....

Thankful to have the day off and to get into some fish! Decided last minute on the commute home to camp out last night and ended up catching my limit by 9 o'clock before the tourists showed up. Ended up with 7 rainbows and one brook. Got em fried up and ate, now onto yard work...

Thanks @SnakeEater for one upping my puny stringer! Lol nice, I've never cought a brown. What'd you catch him on?

Lol not my intent at all. Big rooster tail spinner, been fishing a lot of big spinners, plugs and flys on small streams finding the big boys. Works better in the winter when the waters deeper and cold but caught a couple nice ones so far. This ones small compared to a few me and my brother have been fishing for.

The other day I caught a mouse in a trap in my storage shed. And I also shot a chipmunk under the birdfeeder. Yesterday I used both as fish bait on some catfish noodles I had made up. With the dead mouse as bait, I caught a 3 or 4 pound channel cat. And the noodle that had a chipmunk on it totally disappeared! I looked all over the lake for it. I think a big catfish took it down and get it wrapped up somewhere beneath the surface.

Broke both of my fishing poles in a screen door bringing them inside during a heavy rain. One was a two piece so I might be in luck find a piece of that. The other was my favorite pole in the whole world. Ruined my weekend.

How broke is "broke"? Is it beyond putting a new tip on with a repair kit?

One snapped about a third of it and the other snapped in two places but it’s a two piece pole. I might email the company to see if I can get a second half. They’re both pretty unusable now.
