Fixed Bridge length

So how high is your tether? You basically are just tied off real high and walk around different limbs? You must have awesome balance, I can't even walk across a log over a creek 6ft up.:(

Limb walking isn't as tricky as you'd think because you can lean against the rope for balance. The higher the tie in point is above the climber the easier it is to do. That's one reason Arbos try to get their pick as high as possible in the tree, because it makes the long limb walks near the bottom a lot easier.

It depends on the tree but the higher your tether is it makes it alot easier to walk the limb not to mention if you slip off the limb you wont pendulum back into the tree as hard. As to balance you have your rope to hold on to which helps you balance. I don't limb walk very often while hunting except maybe to clear a window to shoot from. But for recreation it's good fun. Here's a pic of me setting a hammock up in a park with a friend. We were experimenting with hammock camping in trees for a trip to the national forest.

Are you ascending/descending on the VT hitch, or is that just when you're at hunting height?

Right now I'm using a Distel with an extra wrap up top. But I'm using it just for ascending and while I hunt. I'll use it for descending if I'm moving about the tree short distances or for emergency bailout.
