Hey guys I came across a good deal on a climbing harness that I think is perfect for saddle hunting with a sit drag. It has actual linemans loops and the waist belt adjust from both sides to keep the connection point centered. Everything on the harness is super adjustable. If I were going to use it I would cut the metal connection loop off and just use the webbing loop. Has awesome gear loops too. The only problem is they are around $200 new. It's the petzl falcon. I'll post some pics from their website. I went ahead and picked it up because it was a deal I couldn't pass up but I dont use a sit drag. The linemans loops are rated and work really well.
They might be a tad bit small but I didnt have any trouble hooking into them. They're located on the sides not too far back but not forward either. About like the kestrel linemans loops. Anyway thought I would tell you sit drag folks about it. I will probably end up selling mine. Bought it for tree trimming but probably keep using my old harness. C038AA00.jpgC038AA00-Gear.jpg

Looks a little bulky for me. I run a petzl pandion (just a basic gym harness). The thin webbing doesn’t creat pressure points when your in the sitdrag.

Cool.
I found the harness that comes with the Summit stands the best for the sit drag by far. It’s a Smaug 2” webbing harness with built in lineman

Is the Summit harness a full body safety harness? Or is it just around the waist like a RC harness?

No it comes full body but you make it what you want. Mine was attached to the sitdrag and i used it like suspenders and wore everything it. It was top notch.

I am looking at the Petzl site and don't see anywhere that indicates that the front gear loops are rated and therefore suitable for a lineman's belt.

Where did you learn that those front gear loops are rated and safe?

I have the mountain version of that harness and the padding is a little stiff and does create some pressure points with the sitdrag unfortunately. It’s a little noisier to walk with. That being said it is very comfortable on its own and I kept it and do use it a lot for prepping and trying different climbing methods. Really wish it would have worked better with the sitdrag for me.

I think you have to look up the certifications to figure out what it’s rated. They do make sure to specify they are positioning loops.

Just the way that the loops are built into the main strap of the waist belt instead of being a loop that is added onto the harness. If the loops failed that would mean the whole strap that makes up the waist strap would have failed also. If that makes sense. So if you assume that the waist strap is rated, which it is, then the loops which are just loops made of the waist strap would have to be rated as well. I'll take a picture and you can see what I mean. The padding is moveable on the leg straps so I would think you could reposition it to be more comfortable with a saddle if you get pressure points
