Hello, long time bow hunter but brand new to saddle hunting. Wanted to ask how folks are carrying their climbing sticks while going up the tree? Seems way to hard to try and detach them from my backpack as I go up.. any products or suggestions would be much appreciated. TY

Multiple ways to attach the sticks individually to you saddle or molle loops on your pack. I have a small loop about 3" long on the end of each stick and I have plastic clips on each side of my saddle so I can hang a stick on each side. When I use 4 sticks I have a clip on the back of my saddle I can hang a stick from. By placing them around my saddle they don't clank together and are easy to grab when I am ready to place one on the tree. My second stick is the one I have hanging on the back clip usually. This way it's just a matter of pulling a stick off each side when they are needed.

I use nite-ize rubber coated twist ties thru the molle loops. Ill pack them in til at base of tree. Attach a stick to tree, climb n repeat. Have your sticks attached to nite ize for rest of climb up.

This is the way. Kydex J- clips from EWO and tie a simple paracord loop on your stick.
I only carry 3 sticks if I need 4 sticks I attach the first, hook on 2, and drape the 4th's rope over the first stick and pull it up to attach it as my 2nd (I don't find I need 4 sticks very often)

I use a similar method which has progressed over time. I started with some "hooks" which were on the molle loops of my saddle belt and were made from coat-hanger material (technically I did something useful with the political signs left on the side of the road and used the wire from those). On my sticks I girth-hitched a 6-7" paracord loop and would just hang that on the hook I made on my belt. I've since upgraded to using Kydex (from EWO doublesteps.com) for the hooks on my belt, but the loop on my sticks is the same. I did lose one of those Kydex hooks last season though.

I’ve tried a few ways and those j hooks on a molle loop worked well. A paracord loop on anything hangs well on a J hook. Mine broke after time using it for my platform……they are plastic of some sort. I ended up using a metal hook similar to what jakev383 said above.

The nite ize ties were kind of a nuisance for me. A cheap and effective option is from xop. It's just 1" webbing and buckles, you can attach a male end to your saddle and a female end to your stick or platform. Un clip when you put em up and clip them when you take them down. They are $20 for a 10 pack I think.

My method for using my full-length Hawk Helium sticks - I attach my first stick to the tree and then put the loops of the remaining sticks on the top step of that stick and lean them up against opposite sides of the tree. I climb onto the bottom stick, and then grab the strap of one of the remaining sticks, pull it up, and attach it to the tree.

At this point, I take the loop from the third stick and move it to the top step of the middle stick. I can let it dangle there while I climb onto the middle stick, then it's easy to reach and pull up to attach to the tree.
