Go pro mounting

New to filming hunts! Was thinking of going with a tacticam because I get a pretty heavy discount but I don’t like the amount of vibration that the camera has when you shoot it seems hard to see arrow impact. The go pro seems like the move does anyone have recommendations on where or how to mount the go pro?

Just a thought, if stability is what you want, might want to look at the DJI Pocket Osmo. I switched out my gopro for one this year and really like it. its a tad smaller and had the built in gimble. Plus, it can plug directly into your phone, and then you have 2 cameras.

For shots facing me, I used @g2outdoors idea for mounting it to the power pack and putting a clip on the back. Hang it on a gear hanger and your in business. Since I use my phone camera for any zoom work, there is a mount available that holds both the DJI and your phone.

I’ve been running my go pro right off my tether so it follows me. Learned it initially from a G2 outdoors video.

I got an adaptor from bowfinger, it mounts in the stabilizer hole. It works fine, and the vids are great to have. However, with mine the angle is too wide and you cannot tell where the arrow went.

I have made a few go pro / action cam mounts for bow and tree. Here are some examples.
The one on the riser is for a tactacam, but can easily make one for a gopro.

I wanted a way to just capture shots, with minimal fuss. Just a way to replay something and see what happened, regardless if whether you could zoom to see arrow impact. Like you, I opted to get a GoPro camera. Bought a Hero3+ with a bunch of accessories for $35 on ebay. All I do, is wear a head mount over my hat, and turn the camera to point to like 10:00 on my head. It looks right down the bow at full draw, so I can see arrow and everything. Super simple and cheap. Wide angle is not ideal but I'm not making youtube videos or anything. I even found a RealTree waterproof housing that used to be made by GoPro that blocks all the flickering lights on the device. For ease of use, tactacams are hard to beat. The remote is a cool feature, press one button and all the cams turn on and record. The video of the shot isn't the greatest but I'm not looking to win any awards, just share my hunts with whoever I want and be able to replay them for myself. I run three cams, one facing me, one shot view and the other I either put on a tree arm bracket that I can move to where the shot will be or mount it close to the ground where I think the deer will come from. Pretty cool to mesh all the views together into a video.
