I know a few guys on the forum like to ground hunt and I came across this seat and I thought I would share it with you guys.
It’s made by trophy treestands and I have to say I’m impressed with it so far.
Very well made and doesn’t weigh much even though it is made of steel tubing not aluminum.
I personally wanted the Waldrop pacseat to work for me but with my lower back issues it doesn’t hopefully this one is more comfortable for me.
For $50 I think it’s worth trying if you can find one available.
With a little vet wrap or stealth strip tape it’s ready to go hunt I’m excited to try it out.

It came with 1” webbing and cam buckle with a metal S hook to secure it to a tree whats a better option to cut down on metal and weight?

Decided to do a few modifications to the seat. I first took off the heavy tree strap and replaced that with a amsteal daisy chain and installed a mini versa button to fasten it to the tree and that works great.
I also put on some netting to use to help carry in a jacket between the seat and netting.
Next I plan to put some backpack straps on it for the walk in.
I really like it so far should work out to be a good option when I don’t use my saddle setup.

Wow. That thing is sweet. Nice work..

I like it!
once I got all the modifications done it’s a great setup.
I had most of the stuff from past projects and planned to use the backpack straps on a stand but not now I like how it all works.
Believe it or not but if it had a padded waist belt I think it could carry a lot more weight possibly pack out a deer quartered up in a very trips on the net

One thing I learned the hard way this season, do not wear Sitka Optifade on the ground, a sure way to get busted.
I was looking for a ponch or long coat gillie. Found a article on the web taking me to the site below. Ordered the suite.
The article was written by our own @Nutterbuster the suite better be good! :)

I use a homemade head cover and top to break up my out line {head/shoulders) I find the number one thing is not to move much regardless of camouflage choice.
This may sound funny to some but I never look a deer in the eye especially on the ground.
The ground game definitely changes things in their favor but man it’s exciting.

I like ghillie in the early season before gun season starts. I just use a very lightweight turkey hunting jacket made of mesh and a boonie hat. Once gun season starts around here it doesn't end so I have to wear orange while on the ground. I hate it but honestly, they don't pay it any attention. They seem to notice the wrong movement at the wrong time but if you watch them, you can get away with a lot of movement at the right time.

I passed a 6 point at about 16 yards a few weeks back off the ground with my compound. He came through and I just picked up the bow and drew back on him, I looked him over and decided not to shoot and let him pass. He never knew I was there. The other evening, I clean missed a doe off the ground at about 18 yards with my longbow. She walked 3/4 of the way around my position while I was sitting up against a big blown down tree. I think having good back cover and some cover intermittently in front of you so you can move while their eyes are behind it is key.

The second picture below was from a sit where I got a shot at a buck at 12 yards off the ground. I was up against a shoulder width tree behind a log. I clean missed him too. I'd be doing great if I could quit missing, lol.

Treehopper2, did you just try out the Waldrop Pacseat or did you buy one? If you don't need it I'm looking to buy one. I have a real nice thicker aluminum credmore heavy canvas seat with 4 legs which is ok but leaning against big pine, hemlock or even big oaks its hard to get 4 legs to be level with big roots. In the winter I don't like to saddle hunt, just archery for me. Have plenty of stands but I want the mobility especially in late season. I do use a primos turkey mono pod that I slip a DIY extension on it for this rig but my seat with stick, cushion, 9 lb rifle, heavy coat, kill kit , water, the credmore seat its just not made for that set up. I do have a heaterbody suit pack I bought yrs ago and sure, I can stuff everything in there but set up is too slow.
The pic below is just a an aluminum webbed turkey seat with a fanny pack on the bottom. Gotta be low with the snow on the hemlocks.. killed quite a few deer @ this spot. The waldrop may be too tall for this location..

I purchased one and really liked it but I just couldn’t get comfortable with my lower back issues but most guy’s don’t have any problems.
I sold mine but at times wish I hadn’t and put in more time to figure out how to make it work for me
