I’m toying a bit with 2 tether climbing piecing together some things I have here at home before I invest in the CGM setup. Currently I’m using a foot loop of tied 1” tubular webbing that I stiffened to stay open with a piece of accessory cord inside. For the tether I found a heavy weight amsteel daisy chain I had made for my Mini-Shikar before I switched to a cam cleat. I’m using that with a carabiner to clip in the foot loop at the appropriate height. So far it’s working good.
Here’s where I got to thinking. If I stay with that system, when I get to hunting height I can simply move up the foot tether, add a bow hook and some gear hooks and voila, I have my gear strap. Hang my backpack from the drop piece that the foot loop is clipped into. Saves a piece of gear and the hassle of getting out the gear hanger and such.
Any thought, concerns, or other ideas about this?
