First season saddle hunter here, currently just practicing on getting up and down the tree. I don't have a platform just yet but I do have a Muddy Bloodsport hangon stand that is just sitting in the shed. It has a flip up seat and is pretty lightweight.
My question - has anyone every attempted to cannibalize a hangon stand to use as platform? My thought being that I remove the bottom portion of the stand so it's just the back that rests against the tree and the fold down seat. I know I'll need to secure the seat so as to prevent it from flipping up, but any thoughts on this?
