Have you sat in a Phantom? Kestrel Flex vs Phantom

I know this may be a long shot since the Phantom is not released yet, but I figured someone on here was probably at ATA and maybe sat in one. I'm curious about the difference in comfort between the Phantom and an Aerohunter Kestrel Flex. Just about every review I read/watched agreed that the flex was generally more comfortable for most people than the mantis. I ordered a flex in October and it arrived three weeks ago. Since I've been messing with it, I'm thinking a more minimalist mesh saddle may be better for me, my style of hunting, and the climate I hunt in. I'm considering returning/selling the in anticipation of Phantom's release. I know comfort opinions vary person to person, but any experience would be insightful. Thanks guys!

I am in the same boat as you. My first year saddle hunting was this last season. Hunted out of my flex the entire time. Loved it but thought it was a little too much bulk than I was looking for. I am going to buy a phantom as soon as they come out, play with it all summer and determine which one I want to sell before 2020 season. From what I see online, they do not lose any resale value if they are fairly new.

Any idea when the phantom will be available? Sorry if it’s been posted before. Can’t seem to find that answer.

Everybody better have their pennies saved and be waiting by the order button to get one of those Phantoms.

They said they are preparing to fill the first 1,000 orders. $250 for just the saddle.

Be prepared for some people to order more than 1. And honesty probably more like 5.

$250,000 in expected sales. I wonder what saddles sales were last year.

I hope Ernie and Greg sellout the first day. Used saddles will be a buy for the financially challenged. The phantom sounds interesting

Not sure used saddles will lose to much of the original value though. A lot of demand out there.

I don’t know a short time ago mantis were betting above MSRP.

I have seen some listed for under $150

I am looking at both. Which would be good for a newbie coming from "climbers only" hunting?

Unfortunately I don't see how I could test both out before purchase though this would be ideal.

Why don’t you buy whatever you want to compare it against, either of those will resell quickly...... you’ll get plenty of opinions but at the end of the day it’s your butt..
I did this. The flex won with me over the phantom, but the latitude method beat them both hands down. I like the double sling with mesh. Still, I have to say, nothing can beat my 20 year old trophy line suede leather dinosaur. Its a reclining chair for comfort. But yes, its heavy...

I had the flex and sold it for the phantom. I haven’t actually hunted out of the phantom yet but done a lot of hanging around in my backyard and I like it, it’s more comfortable to me and way lighter than the flex. Not familiar with the latitude method so I can’t comment on that.
