I am hoping someone has experience with this platform and a larger platform that your whole foot can fit on for comparison.

I am new to saddle hunting this year and I have sat maybe 15-20 times, longest sit has been about 3.5 hours. I am very happy with all parts of my system except for my platform. I got the hawk helium sticks and saw that there is a platform that attaches to the top stick, so I thought I would try it. It is a very cheap add on and it wasn't out of stock when I bought all my stuff. For packing in purposes it is very handy as all the sticks click together and the platform fits on the furthest back stick if that makes sense. But man this platform is uncomfortable. Within a half hour my feet hurt because you are basically putting all your weight on the edge of this small platform instead of actually standing on it. Does anyone else have this issue? I mostly lean/stand but I do occasionally sit with my knees against my pack. The sitting helps a little bit, but my feet are still uncomfortable. Does anyone have this small platform, or something similar, and a larger platform (ex. predator from tethrd) that can offer me a comparison? Will a larger platform alleviate my issue or am I doing something wrong?

Like noted above try a larger platform like the EDP, Cruzr, Mission, etc. If you want you could also try adding a ROS to your current set up. One of my platforms is the WE Perch and I use it with a ROS. I am a sitter 90% of the time so it works great. If I was leaning 90% of the time I wouldn't like it as much. I was thinking of selling my Mission but have decided to keep it and honestly I am glad I did. I know its large and comes in around 6lbs but for most of my hunting style it works great.

I’ve been using a scout or mission all season. Honestly I think I’m more comfortable on the scout (angled) since my feet sit closer to the tree. It’s definitely a lot easier to get maneuvered for a shot on the mission, plus you can take a standing break if you want. I think if I add a couple steps to my scout set up getting a shot off would be much easier. Kinda screwed on the weak side shot right now with just the scout. If you’re mainly on private or short walks on public I’d get a platform for the simplicity of moving for different shot angles.

Add a ROS to it you’ll notice the comfort if you do that. I hunt off a scout off my one stick when I’m not using my UP but I always add couple ROS to set up. Well worth it

I ran a hawk hsp for most of my hunts this year. It is small. I converted a hawk stick to a “one stick”. I had 1 uncomfortable hunt out of 4 hunts this year. It was my second hunt with it and about a 4 hour hunt. I fixed the comfort issue on the 3rd and 4th hunts by adding a ring of steps (2-3 steps) with it. It helps give you different options for your feet and also helps move around the tree if needed. I will say that I upgraded the pins to grade 8 bolts and also added some extra plastic washers between the channel and platform post to eliminate wiggle (not a comfort thing, just a tip). I really like this thing and used it over my predator 4-5 hunts. I love my predator too! I recently got a lone wolf hand climber seat and holy cow is that a lot of platform space. In the future I see myself running the hsp for unscouted run and gun. And the LWHC for scouted run and gun or all day sits.

I use the HSP soley for hunts about 3 hours or under and I 1 stick. I stand/lean for most of the time but if I want to unweight my feet a bit I usually sit and straddle the tree. For 3+ hour hunts I bring along the EDP platform and set that up next to but a little lower than the HSP on my stick so I can move around the tree better if needed as well as changing foot positions to relieve and pressure points.

Can't speak to the hawk platform per se, but was using a DIY mod on muddy rail before upgrading to hawk mini sticks and a predator XL platform. 90% of the time I lean, have size 12 shoes, and the predator has been amazing. I angle it downward (leveling screw all the way backed out) and it's a leaner's dream!
