@Squirrels any update to your socks?

Ended up returning them. They were more of a liner and not a sock and I ended up feeling the elements under my feet to badly. At some point I may try the ones @Rod Johnson has. Right now I’m wearing in uninsulated boots and taking them off and putting on some north face thermoball booties. Kept my feet freezing down to low 20s so far. That’s without throwing a hamdwarmer in them.

How does your platform feel in the thermoballs?

Those Rod Johnson socks are almost $600. I don’t get enough cold weather to justify that money.

This doesn’t seem like a hard problem to solve but most of my online searches are odd china knockoff companies it seems

I’m really starting to think adding something on top of platform or stand to keep the cold metal off my boots might be a simpler solution

I've been thinking the same thing in terms of something on top of the stand to break the thermal transfer. Just haven't got around to testing it. I was just gonna double up carpet. one piece fuzzy side down against the metal and one piece fussy side up against the bottoms of boots.

Just a heads-up. I'm on my second season with the Volt liners. Just had the wires pull out of one of them. But I have enjoyed them, the heaters on the bottom of the liners don't bother me. I did rig them back together, still working, little disappointed in quality.

i bought some cheap ones on Amazon that are not app or remote control. you need to turn on the battery. usually i tien on at truck or base of tree. so far 3 seasons on one pair. just a warning but when using them my feet sweat more and get clammy. a fix for this was wearing a pair of darn toigh socks under them. i notice the heated socks were soaked but wool was dry.

I wear a pair of REI liner socks under my heated socks and then a pair of wool ones over.

Where did you get them and what's the price if you don't mind me asking..

I can tell you what socks with remote NOT to buy…Gobi. What a waste of $$$ that was!

I know this thread is about electric socks, but has anyone tried placing a wool sock on the outside of their boot around the toes once they’re setup?
Tried this recently in 20 degree weather and I felt it made a noticeable Difference.

I do this currently. Throw a hand warmer in the toe and you’re good to go. I’ve used it down to single digits with 400 gram boots.
