Hey All,
I just got my hunter safety a month ago and started shooting a bow six weeks ago. I have been rock climbing for years and the notion of being off the ground light and mobile seemed right to me. I am an owner at a rock climbing gym so I get to shoot my bow every day, and I can practice from a saddle off a rope too. Seemed like a no brainer. I have been creeping this site for weeks and people seem nice so I figured I would join. Ordered a Method and some Helium sticks and am just waiting for them to arrive. Not sure on a platform yet. Suggestions are welcome.

Well you can start cheap an work your way up .
I think the predator xl is pretty solid choice .
Even the hawk is ok. Just start checking them out if you want to save weight or money you know
 
@Coyote.40 Hey Jody! You wouldn't happen to own Coyote Rock Gym in Ottawa? I am just making connections based on your user name.
If you are in the Ottawa area and are looking for a hunting/practice buddy let me know. I am also just getting into the saddle/archery game although I have been gun hunting in the Ottawa area for a few years. My platform/saddle are currently on the way and I am buying a new bow in the coming months.

I new this year as well and have the predator platform..I have no complaints with it so far, used for the last 3 weeks of the season and did a little mod to it with paint and paracord. I've rocked climbed for years and hanging from a tree feels great.. I started in November with the 30" hawk helium sticks , rock climbing harness and a DIY saddle seat. it worked and served its purpose but when I got the saddle and platform from Tethrd , it made a world of difference in comfort... and make sure you have a good backpack for the long walks. the support makes all the difference carrying the extra weight.

good luck with the practice and its just going to get better with time. you already have a lot to knowledge backing you up..

I ordered four helium sticks and then read about single stick. I'm glad to have all year to figure out what I like. Now I just have to wait for harness and sticks to arrive. If you know anyone in Canada who might have a platform for sale please PM me. In the mean time I will scour the classifieds.
