Just received my first saddle a few weeks ago - a Trophy Line Ambush Pro kit. I decided on the Wild Edge Stepp's. I have a CMI 5 Step Aider on the way and have been using the knaider/swaider technique on a couple of trial runs up the tree. I feel confident using the knaider/swaider, but I am curious to see how the 5 step aider will compare. I've decided that I will repel down the tree on my descent. My buddy suggested getting a Black Diamond ATC and run it with a prussik knot on 60' of Oplux.

I've been hunting for 18 years. Started primarily hunting with a rifle, but have since switched to mainly bowhunting! I have been hunting on 40 acres of private land, but am looking to get into public land hunting now that I have a more mobile setup. I have been using a couple of Ol Man Gorilla climbers and a Summit Viper SD climber.

I have a Tethrd Predator platform on the way and am excited to lighten my load for those long walks in! I want to say thank you to everyone on here as I have been lurking in the shadows soaking up information via the forum. Glad to be here!

Welcome! I have seen some stud deer in Arkansas, but never deer hunter out there.

Welcome to the forum from the Arkansas River Valley! Good deer up there in NEA. Yall's deer eat crops, mine eat pine cones and rocks.

Haha! I’m blessed to be able to hunt the area I am in. Unfortunately, I’ve only seen several swamp donkeys this year frolicking in the field next to my property. If only, if only!

Was out there a few years back when a certain river was WAY out of it banks. We hit 4 deer that first morning on the ride from a certain town to a certain ramp, the last one was on purpose, because, well.....hell, why not. Saw 2 monsters on a certain WMA......

Sounds like you were real close to my neck of the woods. Rather rainy, huh? ;)

Hey from Hot Springs

I was in Hot Springs last week for some training. Never hunted down there, though. The only place in southern Arkansas that I have hunted deer was Choctaw Island WMA and man, I wish I could get back down there. One of my favorite whitetail hunting trips of all time!

Hey! Awesome to meet another from my neck of the woods. Are you hunting any public lands in the area?
I have a few places up in the hills, been a super unlucky year this year. A bad day hunting is better than a good day working so im not gonna gripe.
