What do you get to hunt
Welcome. I too live in Ripley County. Just north of Osgood. I typically hunt private land on a farm and this year I discovered Big Oaks and killed a doe there. Also hunt some other public land around. Went to splinter ridge for the first time this year and also crosley south of Vernon. I killed a buck this year from my saddle on public near greensburg. So I am starting to know my way around lol.

What saddle did you get? I have tethrd mantis. Made my own sticks and am working on a homemade platform now.

I got a sit drag and rch
Still working on sticks and platform
Sounds like you have gotten some travel in
I keep looking at splinter ridge but have not made there yet
How is it there

It's steep down there. I'm sure there's plenty of people on here that would says it's not, but as a flat lander it was definitely steep. The only thing I didn't like is you can't use bonus antlerless tags there so it's buck and archery doe tag only. I was looking to fill a bonus tag for the freezer when I went so I was a bit disappointed. Crosley is the same way so I think next year I will try hitting them both earlier in the season.

I’m hunting a few farms and A lot of urban settings (backyard small timber parcels) which is my favorite
Haven’t tried public but a couple guys on here are trying to get me to check it out so that may happen

I like going to big oaks
It is an adventure every time I go
Not had great luck there
But it is a fun hunt imo
Big Oaks is an adventure. Fun walking around impact craters and unexploded ordinance. :coldsweat: A little unnerving to hear the A-10 squad do their firing runs on the live fire range at the north end of the property. That bbbbrrrrrrppppp is unmistakable. It has great hunting opportunities in many of the areas. I like trying to piece the puzzle together.

I couldn't agree more
We were in area 39 when they did a fly over this year and when the gun went of I almost came out of stand
