Here is how I climb with sticks and an aider.

Nice video. Since you hang the second stick to the 1st stick, have you considered just using the hanging stick against the tree as an "aider" to hang the 1st stick? It might get you a little more height on your 1st stick + aider.

Wouldn't be a saddlehunter.com how-to video without the dog running around....love it!

Trying to figure out how you have that prusik setup on your linemans belt? Can you show more detail with that?
Looks pretty slick.

So that slip ring pushes on the prussik when you pull on the tag end of the rope?
I never saw a setup like that. That's pretty slick! Thanks.

Maybe I'm not seeing things right. Its' hard to see how it works in the video. What is that ring called if I search for it?
Any chance of you making a video specifically on that prussik system? Or is there another video already out there?

nice vidja. how high does that get you? and do you hunt private or public land? and would you possibly leave those sticks on the tree?

I hunt a mix of public and private. I would never leave my sticks on a tree. The cost of those things make beast sticks look like bargain. :)

3 sticks 19ft to platform. 4 sticks 25ft to platform.

I guess also if you left them on the tree and you wanted to hunt a different spot you would need more sticks:rolleyes:. ya my older brother had his climber stolen off of our property, so ya cant trust people nowa days any more unfortunately

@DanO sells prusik tenders for less than $2/each on doublesteps.com. The rings and paracord are functional and easy to set up, but those tenders are the way to go IMO. I found that the paracord and ring bound up more if I loaded the prusik really hard, and you’re not really saving money or time by making the paracord/loop setup. Go here and drop a few bucks on a half-dozen prusik tenders that can be multi-use as gear hangers and cinching loops.
