Hickory Creek Koolaid

Can't you just stick your foot out in the stirrup while sitting in your JX3 and pull back? I cocked my mini that way although without the JX3. Leg out.
Edit : If your toes barely fit maybe not a good idea. Smaller boots?
I cocked mine in the tree on Friday. I forgot to cock it before climbing. My foot was secure in the loop and it was easy. For full disclosure, my limb bolts are turned out 2 turns each for about 125lb draw weight.

Just a follow up for those that had accuracy issues. I took mine out last week after I had tightened all the bolts and shot and was back to hovering around a 4-5" group at 20 yards. I said it was time to put the lock nut on the threaded rod that stuck out as discussed earlier in this thread. I did that and it immediately solved things.

Yep. Lock nut is a necessity for me

if we can get @DanO to flesh out a stirrup modification, there should be room for a “knob” nut that still allows you to disassemble, on top of normal size folks being able to get their boot in there...

that said, I’m getting to where I don’t disassemble mine for carrying in anymore, so it’s less of a concern

What size/thread did you go with?

Followed this post from @Jtaylor, so I guess it's a 5/16"-18. I just happened to have a 5/16" nylon lock nut laying around and it fit.

I put it on as in the pic above. I used a socket wrench and just snugged it up until it was secure without over tighenting it.

I did the same thing with mine, also put a 1/4-20 allen head bolt instead of the knob, pretty solid connection now
with a good rest it is shooting 2-3" groups out to 40

Anyone in SE Michigan have one I can get my hands on for a day or so? Jerry is super tied up this week getting orders out and dealing with a hurricane, so he won't have a chance to get one ready for me until the end of the week or later.

This is what we should be aspiring to...

So...I ended up going with the Vortex Crossfire 2. Couldn't pass up the savings between that and the better scopes suggested.

Running into a problem using it. Got it mounted and doing the 6 yard initial sighting from the manual just fine. I will try the 40 yard step after work today.

My problem is how the reticle looks. I'm not sure if it is defective or if it is me, or I've done something wrong. Basically the cross shaped reticle appears "double-imaged" to me, which makes it fuzzy and impossible to read numbers or see the related tick marks. It gets worse when I turn on the red/green light (very fuzzy with that).

With the light off, I can make the image tighten up if I lean my head to the right far enough that I start to lose the full sight picture (black starts creeping in on right). With the red/green light on this move makes no difference.

Thoughts?

How tight do you have the rings? Overntightening can cause distortion issues somentimes...

The eyepiece focuses the reticle so it is sharp to your eye.
