Hiking/hunting boot?

For you guys who swap insoles, have you tried Sheepfeet?

I have never bought or swapped insoles for my hunting boots but I have for work and it made a HUGE difference in some of my world since my feet back and legs didn’t hurt, even my attitude was better lol.

I haven't tried sheepfeet.

I've got kind of a wonky situation with a full size difference between feet. I decided to give Lathrop and Sons a try. You have to do foot mapping and have pre and post fitting consultations over the phone. I don't have the miles to answer the mail, but my impression is that the Lathrop and Sons custom Synergy Orthotics are no joke. Superior fit and they nailed the durometer for support and comfort. They also correct foot position for better balance and less fatigue, and though I haven't put them to the test I can feel that adjustment.

Not cheap, but I think it's going to be worth the cost.

I've got their custom boots as well. If they are as good as I think they are, I'll add another set next year too.

Just throwing them into the mix for those looking for a customized solution to check out. Sounds like @kyler1945 is using their orthotics in his Lowas and he pounds miles.

I got the SOLE heat moldable Active Thick w/met plate insoles for my new Asolo Hunter Ext and they are so nice I’m getting a set for my work books. Used to use Dr Scholls gel but a good insole like the Sole is worth the extra money. Never again with cheap insoles.

Well, I ended up trying a couple of different brands and finally picked a pair of Oboz Bridgers size 11. Hope to get out and break them in a bit soon. Thanks for all the help. I really appreciate it. My thoughts are that I really could not have gone terribly wrong with any of the quality boots. This is just what seemed to fit me best of what I tried out.

Love my Salomon’s, I feel they are a decent boot for the price. I will probably try some Crispi’s when these wear out, just because of all of the good reviews I see on them. I hardly ever hear someone complain about them. When I bought these 2 years ago, I was just getting into saddle hunting and spent a lot of my hunting budget on my initial setup. I have sheepfeet. One of my favorite purchases ever. Got the heel stabilizer and double padding. I've walked miles and miles pain free. Thats 3 years of hard use and they still look good. Next year I'm gunna send them in for repadding. Well well worth it and on certain occasions the company will run a discount 20220709_112448_compress38.jpg20220709_112442_compress81.jpg
