The ones without holes are easier to modify down the road if need be...since there aren't big holes cut into all the sides, you have room to drill and mount other things if you want. Also easier on the wallet. I only use the no-hole version. Have about a dozen of them at this point since I will occasionally leave some up on pre-sets on private land. Great sticks.
Agreed.. on both accounts... they're awesome but need stealth stripping... I can't even imagine how loud Tethrd 1s are... I actually need to go back and stealth strip 3 sides of the standoffs as well as the steps... I still tend to ding those together while in the treeI believe you save 2 ounces per stick with the holes vs no-holes. I think they both sound like wind chimes without stealth strips. I have the ones with holes and absolutely love them.
