Hollow brand alpaca socks?

Are the crew socks basically a thinner version of the boot sock? I don't want to order them and get something not fit for hunting and hiking.
Yes, my crew socks are thinner than the boot socks. I bought the crew for every day wear and early season hunting. The boot socks seem like they would be good once you get in the 40 degree range. Take this with a grain of salt as theses are my first and never had any experience with them.

I would wear the boot socks for hiking. I wouldn’t think the crew would be an issue, but they are substantially thinner than the boot sock. These dang boot socks are the most comfortable socks I’ve ever worn.

If I remember correctly, the percentage of alpaca is slightly higher with the boot socks. So thickness is not the only difference in the models. Probably not a huge issue unless you're looking for maximum warmth.

I pretty much got the perfume smell out of mine but it was stubborn.
I gave them an overnight soak in a fairly strong mix of Sportwash, baking soda, and a little unscented dish detergent. I did a hand wash in that and they still stunk. I wrung em out, made new soak and hand washed again and left it over night. They still stunk the next day. They then went into the front load washer with other clothes. They were much better but still had some odor after that. Then I stuck them in a gallon zip lock and ran 5 minues of ozone. All of that got them about 95% odorless. I'm pretty sure the tiny bit of trace odor will be gone after a while.
This was not a deal breaker for me, I do like the socks. But Hollow shouldn't let their product go out in that condition. The fact that most of the socks you guys got came odorless tells me that it was a particular employee that handled mine right after taking a bath in perfume. That employee should have been placed on janitor duty that day.

They prolly just didnt want your socks to smell like the weed they had on break.

For those who have the Hollow socks, anyone have the boot and the crew socks? They have 33% off now plus buy 3 get 1 free. Debating if I should grab 4 pairs of the boot socks or maybe 3 and a pair of the crews for early season. Or 2 and 2. I know the boot have a higher percentage of alpaca. Wonder how the crews are early season

I bought both. The boots are very thick and like wearing a cloud. So comfortable. At first I didn’t care for the crew much but after giving them a fair shake I really do like them. They are quite a bit thinner than the boots but my feet sweat like crazy and I’m really liking the crew for that reason. They are a pretty comfortable sock as well. I wore one pair of the crews for close to 2 weeks testing it out and they did great. Didn’t get smelly or that crunchy feel socks normally get after prolonged use. They really are great socks.
