Hot!!

Sorry southern boys, 48 degrees at my house yesterday morning, 50 right now.
I need to move where you are! Here in NC there are some years it is shorts weather at Christmas!! Bugs and heat just about all hunting season!!!! SUCKS!!!!!

Tell ya what I'll just throw this out there and maybe you can feel the relief of low humidity and reasonable temps. Then when's freeze the snot in your nose cold here you can post a nice temp from Qatar or LA or FL. These are in Celsius.20190826_072345.jpg

Scouting Ohio yesterday. It was as hot as B@lls. The sticky balls got in my shirt. I had to take it off, from then on I was total itchy sweaty body. The fields I crossed felt like deserts. Summer scouting is tough.
Pulled a cam with these three. Worth It!

Here in Gainesville, FL, it’s been 90+ everyday and raining. Every day. Every daaaay...... when I finally have time to go out, and it’s dry enough, to get some practice in, I’m soaked to the core with sweat in minutes, and then barely get enough time in before the lightning chases me away. Can’t wait for fall.
How’s the weather situation where you are? Hopefully more saddle friendly.

Thinking there only difference here in Flagler Beach, F L A is that the humidity is worse than Gainesville simply because I live at the beach!! Oh yeah, and I only have stinking pain trees to train on. Unless I get out four thermacell s and go inland!! 50 days until mid west vacation tho!!

I haven't been in my saddle since last February. Day before yesterday I set up sticks and my platform so I could start shooting from elevated position. 10 minutes to setup sticks in platform since I was rusty and had a couple branches that needed to be trimmed. I was soaked to the core in that short time. South Louisiana this week has been muggiest it has been all year. my grass in a jungle and too wet to cut. Think the deer and rabbits have been enjoying it though.

NE Florida and it’s brutal outside right now. Wife and kid are in the pool but it’s too hot for that for me. I work out in everyday so I eat the AC up on the weekends. Yesterday and today been actual temp of 97-98 and real feels over 105. Can’t wait for next Saturday though. I’ll be hanging in the heat hoping to get it done.

Yesterday I had to reset some presets to accommodate the recurve which meant moving everything closer and lower with more cover. Got two trees preset for next weekend. Had to do some limb walking to cut a few limbs out of the way while leaving the main limb in place. I was glad I’m still running a 10’ tether. Used the weed eater with a brush blade to cut a hundred yard shooting lane in n the clear cut for rifle season. Scouted a 35 acre parcel in the city limits I just gained permission on. Did a practice climb with the loggy bayou steps I picked up from @redsquirrel and had my first elevated shooting session with the recurve. It was not 97 yesterday. As I drilled bolt holes and used screw ins on the two presets I couldn’t help but jokingly wonder if I was spooking the deer a week before season, or was I creating a natural salt lick.

It was brutal here in SE Louisiana yesterday. I work in it too and I’m a big fan of the AC myself. Life may be a beach but love is an AC!!

Ac is what has ruined us!!! When I was young all we had was an attic fan and the heat didn't bother me as bad! Might be my imagination but seems the more ac I get the worse the heat gets when I am out in it!!!!

I'm in central Florida and just got back from checking my game cameras and now I'm soaked with sweat. It's unbearable right now. I'll be loving our weather when I'm hunting in January but early season is brutal.

Age is what ruins most of us. When I was younger I didn’t even consider the weather as a factor. Now it’s all I consider!!! Every year after 40 seems like it’s 10x hotter.

I just spent the am hanging presets and checking cameras. It was brutal. I spent 10 years growing up in the oil camps in saudi arabia. Never bothered me. Now in Gainesville and it feels so much worse.

Hey a local that feels the heat! I live right down the road in Williston and I’ve been practicing around 0800 or 1900 to try and stay somewhat dry. I’ve got straight shady spots set up for opening weekend in 6 days!

Humidity changes life haha I’d rather be in 10 degree weather in Colorado than 32 degree weather in Florida.
