How bad is this recurve tip crack?

Hard to tell from the pictures and a lot of the models look somewhat similar, but my first thought was Gamemaster

Well, it's official, I've been scammed. Doesn't make a lot of sense to go through all this effort for the money, but the replacement bow showed up in a box that's fine, and a crack worse than the first. I had such high hopes but dang it can't trust people these days.

I've requested a refund and a return shipping label, however if I don't get that at least I got an education in staying away from Facebook marketplace for these type of purchases and am only out 130 bucks for some wall decorations(though I don't really want to keep them, they remind me of being scammed and therefore annoy me) Still looking for that first trad bow, I suppose sage here I come, should have done that in the first place lol but something about using a vintage bow appeals to me. Or at least it did before this experience!

That's a tough lesson-I feel bad for you. For what it's worth, I have bought a couple of lemons over the years myself!

Then, when the "Papa Bear" bug just wouldn't go away, I just decided to get modern Bear trad bows in the models that I wanted-definitely more expen$ive, but at least I knew what I was getting because I held it in my hand before buying (actually shot them too-all my Bears came from Lancaster Archery Supply!)

If you find that you can't get rid of the "vintage bow" itch, you can look in the trad classifieds on ArcheryTalk, Stickbow.com (the leatherwall) or TradGang. There are still scammers there, but much less than more widely used sites, and most all of the sellers know what to look for before putting a bow up for sale, & are willing to send you more photos if you ask.

It's odd that the seller actually sent you another bow
yeah, i thought so as well, and had high hopes, he was rather communicative the whole way through, so i dont know if hes a scammer or just has no idea? but he's claiming that both were in pristine condition when shipped, and i'm not buying it. i should have been wary of the replacement because i didnt get good photos but had somewhat already written off the cost as a lesson learned, and he already had my address so figured no harm in agreeing. as soon as i unpacked the second one i took a picture and sent it to him, saying basically i couldnt reccomend him as a seller and was dissapointed as this one obviously was shipped that way. He is still trying to blame it on the post office and telling me to go take the bow in to the post office so he can get the money back (he should be able to do a claim with the photos i sent, already, any post office trips are not worth my time at this point), and initially replied somewhat angrily about how much $$ he'd spent on sending bows out and telling me to send them back. i asked for a return shipping label and my money back and said i'd ship them back if i get it, otherwise i'd keep them as a reminder to not buy on facebook, and no reply yet although i can tell the message was read. i also posted in the FB group that he advertises in (a reply to someone else's positive review), so he'll probably see that as well and not return my $ as a result. I'm ok with that, at this point i'm thinking likely best to keep em both and throw them in the garbage anyway, i don't really want to send them back and have him turn around and get some more $ from some other ignorant newbie and would rather the buyer beware be out there. perhaps he has no idea that these cracks were a bad thing, i think it makes sense for the warning to be out there if people search his name in the group, but im not going to go blasting his name everywhere, live and learn and moving on.

Maybe he just wants the USPS to buy his broken bows.

probably. he got my $ and can now file a claim on each to get paid x3, and to top it off he thinks i'm going to go to the post office to do the work for him. dang i feel dumber now realizing this lol, it WAS worth it (to him) to ship em both out to me. scams on top of scams.

I’ve bought several vintage bows on craigslist with good luck. Both times I brought strings made
To length for the bows. Strung em up and drew
Them back part ways several times inspecting them for issues before coming to full draw.

Probably has something to do with a shipping claim. Still a little bit of a weird situation, but if it is a scam, I am sure it is not his first time and he knows exactly what he is doing. Plus if he bought the bows in that condition, he payed next to nothing for them. So he is making money either way. Obviously more if he can get a shipping claim, but still making some on the original sale
