Trick pin setup is another option for single pin sights. Youd set it for 50 yards (or whatever the magical distance is for your speed) and aim 12" low for a wide variety of shots. Your arrow stays within a certain kill zone window for a wide range of distances. I think it's more practical for elk where the hold under distance allows you to put the pin right on the belly line.

I appreciate the bump/read. I am set up like this kinda. I’m just setting up a HHA optimizer lite and Locking the pin at 25. I’m 60#, 30.5” draw, 388 grain arrow and around 290 fps.Funny to go back and read my feelings on the EZV before the resentment set in for a big buck miss.
Bumping for folks asking questions about rangefinders, heavy arrows, EZV, sliders, trajectory, etc.
Never adopted trick pin method. Left EZV way behind. Single pin slider that stays out for whitetail season.
Yes, I read through your post last night and this is pretty much exactly where I ended up after a few seasons behind the bow. I use a single pin HHA slider that I set and don't move once it is sighted in. I wasn't hanging around here when this post originally came out, so I missed it. The only thing I routinely move on the HHA during actual hunting is to adjust the cover over the fiber optics to allow more or less light in to adjust for low or bright light conditions. Great advice all around.Funny to go back and read my feelings on the EZV before the resentment set in for a big buck miss.
