i am brand new to this site and brand new to saddle hunting? i have watched a few videos about setting up your saddle and whats comfortable for you. in one of the videos they talk about the length of your bridge in one of the videos and how a longer bridge can be more comfortable and the length bridge they use. how are they getting the measurement for there bridge length? when its unbuckled and laid flat, or when in the tree hanging from your pivot point down to your saddle hitch point? this is all new to me so any help would be great! thanks

End to end of the loops. It don’t matter if it’s laid flat or your hanging from it it should be the same length

Welcome, Bridge length is from hookup point to hookup point. That’s to the loops on your saddle.

I always assumed it’s the total lenth laid flat.

Your best bet is to just start with an adjustable bridge and sit in it until it feels comfortable. Bridge length will change with saddle and ass size so it’s really variable. Measurements may only get you in the ballpark. You will have to find what works best for you.

You can save money but just retying the rope bridge to your desired length; if your using amsteel then an adjustable bridge is better.
