Hey all,
I have been taking my SRT setup elk hunting, and boy does it feel heavy climbing the mountains. I want to setup on some waterholes and saddles farther up the mountain, and I'm thinking about what I can do to lighten my setup. Do you carry 1 or 2 throwbags? Mine are 12 oz and I've been carrying 2 in case one gets stuck so that's not helping the weight - but if I get one stuck after hiking 2 miles and 2000 ft up I'll be in a pickle. I've got 50 ft of sterling HTP which I could probably shorten to 40 ft. And I'm carrying a throw cube because its been a game changer for not getting my throwline tangled to crap. I've been leaving my ring of steps at home since most trees have had limbs to stand on. How far do you hike with SRT gear?
