Tested the newest version today and it looks like the foot on the end of the bolt helps with possible damage on soft bark trees.
I made the “foot” out of a swivel nut turned around so the part that touches the tree doesn’t turn.
As you tighten the knob the bolt and nut spin within the swivel part of the nut touching the tree

to not cause damage.
As I test this thing I see it really helping . Once you get a good solid cam over on the OCB walk each step in then reach down and put a few twist on the knobs to tighten the strap back up once the steps settle in to the tree.
As the hunt goes you may need to retighten the knob some depending on the tree.
