First to admit i hunt way more than i should I work 4 ten hour days so i have a 3 day weekend for the most part all fall So starting in September I get after it and hunting in Ga and Al i get to hunt into February I use all my vacation form the most part then too

I only get two buck tags so to say I'm selective is an understatement. :tearsofjoy: I generally kill at least one and often two bucks a year. I've always said those tags are my tickets to hunt. Ideally I'd fill my second tag on Jan. 1st.

Its only in the last couple of years that Michigan has gotten more liberal with the doe tags in teh areas I hunt but I still have trouble shooting does, especially does with young un's with them . . .old habits die hard. Truth of the matter is I just really enjoy time in the tree.

Deer Sightings Summary for the last three years:

Shooting the younger ones is easy, just aim a little lower.

I’d say 3-4 weeks for sure. Half of that may be all day sits, the other half could be just morning, night or both and some rest in between. Ive been keeping track of deer scouting miles this year, so maybe I’ll do so for actual hunts too this season and report back.

I try to hunt every day i can. I cant really state a number because it changes every year.
last year i only gotout about 15 times due to having the rona twice.
I actually scout more than i hunt. I actually enjoy scouting snd trying to figure or find out somthing about an old public land educated boy

Ohio's Deer Archery Season starts in late September and ends the first week of February. Included in this same time period is a 7 Day Gun Season right after Thanksgiving, then 2 weeks later a Bonus Gun Weekend and a 4 Day Muzzleloader (any primative weapon) Season in early January.
I'll hunt every day, unless it rains. I only lay my bow down during the Deer Gun Season and that's usually my chance to use a handgun, muzzleloader or rifle. Typically, I'll use my Ravin crossbow, during the primative season, because I don't own a muzzleloader.

Simple answer is not enough. More realistic estimate is 35-45 days. That’s a mix of all day, afternoon only or separate morning and afternoon hunts.

I’m in the 5-9 camp. Used to be more but with a recent “promotion” and now both kids having weekend activities it has become increasingly more difficult. I find myself having to take leave and get in early morning sits which I dislike as my body finds them to be disagreeable but hey you hunt when you can.

I said 40-49 but I don't count days, I count mornings and evenings. I get 60-80 sits a year. In Illinois you get 2 buck tags per year so I let many deer walk by without picking up the bow.
Starting November 1 I'll sit morning and evening every day til the bucks slow down on trolling. Or I fill both tags. Being self employed I rarely sit all day since there is always someone or something that needs attention. During the rut I stay out til noon if I can and go back for the last 2 hours as well.

I average 3 days a week from Sept. 15th to Jan. 15th During last week in Oct to 2nd week in Nov I hunt 5 day a week. Of course that changes if I limit out on my 2 bucks. Then it drops off if I’m doe hunting only. But to be honest just getting out is enjoyable. I also like to help set up my other buddies for success if I can.

I'm in the 5-9 range right now. Just coming back from a bunch of orthopedic surgeries over the last 10 years. So where I couldn't get out before makes the times I do now soooo much more special.

This season I'm going to change my schedule at work (or get fired) and hit it hard as possible in the afternoons. That's my plan.

Around 15 weekend days from Sept through the end of November with 5 or 6 evening hunts through the week in that same time frame. Then another 6-8 sits from December through the end of January.

Not nearly as much as i'd like. The last two years clinicals and/or school have screwed up my hunting time. I can probably count on one hand the number of days I hunted last season. I'm finishing up and will be done next month. I typically work three 12s a week so I can go out during the week and kind of schedule myself a long stretch off without using PTO. My biggest issue is access. Driving an hour or more to mediocre public spots gets kind of old. Public land is trendy but a small private spot close to home is ideal.

Depends on the year. Now that I'm the Mgr in my area, I get a lot more time. How much of that time I use depends on how successful I am and what other interests come along.

A good couple weeks of duck killing weather would will keep me out of the stand.
A big, huntable buck may have me hitting a spot 4 or 5 times in a week alone. Gotta shoot'em when you know they're there.

usually around 30ish.
However, despite having more time to hunt this year it'll probably be much less than that. For myself and what I have consistently experienced, hunting in weather over 55 degrees is a waste of my time. So I'll wait for the right conditions this year.

There was a point in my life where I hunted every day I could. Now you couldnt pay me to do that, I have other interests and honestly theres mornings I wake up and look at that clock and think yeah right and go back to bed. I pick and choose my poison cause all the running will burn me out on it quick. I picked 10-19 cause ill usually take a few days of vacation. I limit most of my days to saturdays and usually if I hunt morning I wont hunt evening and if I hunt evening I wont hunt the morning. That time of year my wife likes to do all kinds of stuff too. She has a pretty good gauge after 12 years of where Ill pivot between yes Ill go and no... usually depends what time the event is and what time it gets dark and or weather.
