How many deer have you killed?

I honestly don't know. I have a box in the back shed with 48 racks in it, most all 1.5 year old "trophies". I inadvertently left another box with about 15-20 more "trophies" in it at the last house I lived in at college. I have one 8 point I had mounted, also from my college years. Add to that the two 10's , two nines and seven eights I have in the house and I can account for a minimum of 75 but I'm sure there are a few unaccounted for there somewhere. It's only been the last 15 years I've made the personal choice to pass the 1.5 year olds. Nowaday's I'm always looking for something bigger and better.

Edit: missed all the instructions:

Age: 57 in August
Bow Hunting: 45 years (started 1974, age 12)
Rifle Hunting: 43 years of carrying a rifle (age 14). However, I was always was out opening day with my Dad (or an Uncle after he passed since I was 7 years old, 1969).
All my deer have been killed in northern Michigan and all but a very few on public land.

This post has made me remember I have to offer a thanks to my hunting buddies father who always made sure I had a ride to the woods on the weekends to bow hunt before I could drive. We traded hunting opportunities for help loading the truck with firewood during the midday. I wouldn't trade those days for anything. He's 80 now and still hunts with us "boys".

I don't want to turn this into a competition, but I'm really curious.

I just added every one I can remember up and so far I'm at an even 20. For a broke 25 year old I'm not too disappointed, but I definitely want that number to go up. Of course, I killed my first when I was maybe 7? So I'd like to think I neglected a doe or two. Sometimes mine and my dad's kills run together too since we hunt so much and I clean the majority of his deer lately. But I know for sure I've accounted for 20.

Let me know:

This might be a fun summer post!

I have never killed a deer outside of Alabama and hunt primarily public, btw.
I’m 30, started deer hunting at age 14(legal gun age in Michigan at the time) and started archery hunting in 2013, this past season was my 14th season of deer hunting. I’m from Michigan and have hunted northern Michigan and recently southern Michigan. I’ve killed 3 deer, my first was a spike horn near Crystal Falls in 2004, the second was an 8 point in 2017 just north of Lansing and a doe last season. I missed out on a nice 9 point because of a dumb tree stand noise, hence me switching to saddle hunting.

I am 27 years old and started hunting at the age of 12 so this season will mark my 16th season hunting whitetail. I hunt primarily central michigan and grew up hunting private only. In the last 5 years ive started to dabble in some public land. I shot my first deer at the age of 12 and my first buck also at 12. As for a total ive taken i think im somewhere around 15. Nothing of any size at all my best buck being the one i shot at 12 and it was just a 60 in 5 point. I have taken a few out of state hunts to ohio but never pulled the trigger out of state. I did kill my first saddle deer this year to make that total 1. I hole to be going to illinois this season and out one in the ground there as well as a couple here at home.

I guess I was technically ground or still hunting. I was walking in a cut corn field along a road that he had been sparring in with a spike. He ran off into a swale as I entered the field. The spike stomped at me and made a ruckus as I worked my way into the field. I got in half way and my buck popped back up to see what was going on. He was stupid. I was lucky.

Started at 14, but didn't hunt for a few years here and there, so probably 30ish years. No idea on deer, probably around 15. I have killed 10 elk. All has been in Idaho, and Idaho has never in that time had multiple deer seasons, one per season. If you shoot a doe on opening of archery your year is done, archery and rifle. I pass on deer chances most years for that reason. I always thought it would be nice to live for a few years someplace with hogs and multiple doe tags but I'm pretty happy in Idaho. There is plenty to do without the few things it doesn't have. I won't ever have big number totals living here though. I'm ok with that.

We could have a highest elevation or farthest from the truck animal competition instead. I'd do well in those.

Whitetail is a passion I wouldn’t give up, but sure wish I was closer to some elk opportunities!

33 years old. Killed my first when I was 12 so I’ve been hunting successfully for 21 seasons. I’ve killed 81 whitetails (and one mulie buck) according to my journal. 37 of the 81 were bucks, 19 of those with a bow.

Hunted anything that had a season since age 10 earlier for birds and squirrels

How many seasons
Some years I didn’t hunt so probably 28 ish

Where you're from/where you generally hunt
Grew up in Ca and currently hunt Tn

And how many deer you've kilt!
Boat loads. We have very liberal limit here.
I killed something like 62 in one season before I realized I was burning my spots out and doing all the work for people that wanted a deer.
When my kids were young I averaged 13 -15 a year. I’m easily in the high 200 maybe low 300 range. I’ve only killed 1 or 2 in the last couple of years. Kids grew up and we just don’t eat as much venison. So I have been looking for bucks. I’ve been in the game just haven’t been able to close the deal. Looking for my first p&y

I grew up on public land in Ca and only hunt public land in Tn.
