How many times a year do you get to go hunting?

10 times this year. 15 last year

I need to grow no corn and get 90 days

54 days with 18 all day sits spread over 3 states. Son is in college now so not having sporting events and other things going on definitely frees up time. Can’t wait till it starts up again in September!

You make me sick!!!!!! Green with envy!
No kids, good hours, and an awesome woman make for a sportsman's paradise. Add in a house on the WMA and you have a perfect storm.

Now I just need to have my youtube channel blow up and generate enough income that I never have to show up at an office again!

Bad year for me. Probably went out about 6 times total during the rifle season. 3 or 4 of those were all day sits. The rest were half days.

Hopefully, I will get my stuff together and do better this year.

I just counted since I log all my hunts. 58 separate sits this year. Only 2 were all day sits. The rest are quick 3 hour evening hunts as that’s when I can get away. I’m lucky to have a WMA within 20 min of my house.

Not nearly enough for my liking. I was lucky to probably break 10 sits. A 2 and 4 year old will do that I guess. I did also try to split the amount of scouting and amount of actual sits more evenly though which did pay off thankfully. I did manage to get my first buck also first bow kill. That was awesome to finally seal the deal.

I lump most of mine together. A 14 day rut trip (2 driving, 11-12 hunting) then a 7 day December trip (2 driving, 5 hunting) then a handful of hunts locally. When I’m home and not working, projects and family occupy all most all my time. So the couple vacation out of state trips is pretty much my season. Going for 3 trips this year. Retirement plan is to be gone and hunt from mid October - mid December , 60 days over maybe 3 or 4 states. That’s the dream anyways. We’ll see what happens, got a little more than a decade to aggravate the wife enough that she welcomes me being gone that long...

According to my deer hunting log from 2019 I had 79 sits between Oct 1st and Jan 1st in 2019. I hunt remote from home long weekends through Oct and the full first two weeks of November. By hunting remote there's no excuse not to go out, even in inclement weather, with the possible exception of 35+mph sustained winds or lightning.

I actually hunt very little during Michigan's rifle season in the second half of November, usually just the first two days and Thanksgiving morning with my daughter. I just can't deal with the orange army anymore.

Come December I hunt primarily weekends around home. The week around Christmas and New Years is pretty lax at work so I generally hit it hard then too during years I can still get the truck off the road that late in the year.

I figure a conservative 3.5-4 hours average per sit so I conservatively spent better than 280 hours in the saddle this deer season. I need to remember to point that out to my buddies the next time I hear "How can that be comfortable?" :)

I don’t know how many individual sits I did (need to figure it up) but I do know I spent right at 300 hours in the tree this past season. I don’t think I took my saddle off for two months straight

Probably around 12 sits for me, only 4 all day sits. Most of those were in my backyard for 3 hours on a Saturday afternoon. I'm sure it was my worst participation ever. Something was monopolizing all my time - lol. Will do better in 2020.

35 sits this year not counting a few days of scouting. That was with just weekends evenings and a couple sick days I don’t have the luxury of getting to take a rut-cation.

For me it varies year to year. This year I only got 25 hunts in. That's mostly hunting Saturdays but when I could get off work id hunt every chance I got. In those 25 sits I killed 4 deer so I had 2 tags left over unfortunately.

I hunt on average all or parts of 45-50 days in the fall. Some years more and occasionally less.

In 2019 I had 80 hunts for 265 hours of hang time I live in a area where we enjoy really long deer seasons so far in 2020 only 1 hunt on New Year's Day I have some catching up to do and I do keep a log book I may have missed logging in a few days

My logbook has it at 30 hunts in 26 days totaling 132 hours. Not too bad for being married with four kids and a job.

Last year bow season started like 26th of sept. So from there till jan 7th i hunted close to 5 times a week. In between 3 locations

16 days out of state. Not including travel days.
Only two afternoons locally. (need to change the local hunting...just too many things going on with home/ work that I need to leave to relax)
Home hunting= Guilt hunting

See it's the exact opposite for me. As long as I am home to help put the kids to bed I am in decent shape. That factors into where I hunt many days.

Overnight stuff is tough, I tend to burn that up in fishing season on the great lakes. I yearn for out of state hunting, but I cant do it to my wife and not sleep with the dog.

Mornings are pretty easy too. Usually everyone is in a good mood when I get home. Being gone all day during the rut, I work all year to earn that, but the wick only burns so long. When it burns out, it really burns out.

I guess I could have made different choices, but my wife is hot and I like my kiddos most of the time.
