It took me a while to understand this, but now that I do it makes perfect sense. Great idea!If your stick or step you are standing on fails, and don’t have access to another, use your linesman(or tether) whichever your not using, girth hitch the tree and make a loop to stand on with one foot, stand up to get tension off the other rope, lower it a little, lean back, and lower ‘Step’ rope. Inch worm your way down. Wouldn’t be a lot fun, but better than a bear hug..

What do u think of the e bike? I hike 2-3 miles into my deer hunting area & recently saw 1 of these bikes 4 the 1st time. Definitely not cheap but very interesting. I'd like to hear about your experience with it so far.Arghh. I’ll have an e-bike.

I looked 1 of these up, having never heard of them before. Hopefully there's videos on you tube so o can better understand how these work. Thanks for the advice!I have a treestand wingman I used with my climber. Maybe I’ll keep it in my pack as insurance. It can be reset and reused too.

I get the idea. In my particular case i had a pullup rope attached to a stick that was stuck to a stick attached to a tree. The stick on the tree broke free of the cleats but was still strapped to tree. 2 sticks down while neither available to pull up if i so desired. But i do like this device as i seem to drop stuff all the time & do without so as to not risk any more noise or smell by climbing down.Pick up the stick you dropped.

I was using the rope mod but I'm thinking about going back to the straps. The amsteel ropes seem to take me more time to secure and are more difficult to get as tight around the tree. Were you using a buckle strap or a rope mod on your stick that came lose?
I like using an amsteel daisy chain on my steps but they can accidentally get hooked with clothing or when pulling gear up putting slack in the rope and causing the step to slide down the tree.
