I just won this bow. Any reviews or good information on it? I’ve never owned a Hoyt, so I’m wondering what the thoughts and feelings are about them
Thanks

My first Hoyt was the Carbon Defiant and I hated it. Hard to tune, strings had to be made out of spec to work, it was harsh on the shot and you had to have special arms placed on your press to work on the bow. Swore I would never own another Hoyt but I’ve always wanted a carbon bow but I didn’t like the Mathews Triax that I replaced it with. When the Redworx line came out on the RX-1, claiming to have totally revamped the carbon lineup, I picked up a used RX-1 Turbo and shot it for a few seasons and fell in love with the bow. Tuned easily and stayed tuned. I loved the draw cycle, the bow was fast, much softer at the shot than the Defiant and it could be pressed normally without any special devices needed. I sold the RX1 T and picked up an RX3 Turbo this season and I’m just as happy with it as I was with the RX1 Turbo. To date, they are my two favorite bows that I’ve owned. But as you know, only you can decide on how you feel about a specific bow.

Well it’s time to load it up with goodies. Decided on a Hamskea rest and CBE 3 pin sight. Gonna upgrade my release. Thinking about a hook style wrist strap, but haven’t narrowed the selection down yet

I just got around to getting my sight dialed in on the RX-3 Turbo. I don’t know if the same is true for the non-turbo models but my 3 Turbo is much faster than my 1 Turbo was. I went from a #14 tape on my Fast Eddie XL to a #28 tape and had to move my 20 yard zero about an inch higher on the dial. I thought that the shorter ATA might make it less forgiving than the 1 but it’s shooting lights out. The draw does seem a little stiffer though. Just a hair.

Good luck with the upgrades. I love setting up new bows

Just spent the last 2 hours at the range this morning. At 7 am the humidity and heat were ridiculous, but I got the Hoyt sighted in thru 40 yards. I absolutely love the CBE sight and Hamskea rest. I really need to practice my form, the new Tru Ball short n sweeter hook release completely changed how I shoot. Definitely comfortable but different. Even with 648 gr arrows the speed seems great.
