Hunting Hoody

If I ever find the time, my goal was to make the exact hoodie you're talking about. I have a bunch of Sitka fleece material. I just need to sacrifice my beloved wolverines hoodie for a pattern.

Want to make two? Lol

My favorite most versatile pc of gear. Is a Sitka fanatic hoody. With a good wool under it & a vest over it, I can cover a lot of my hunts!!

This looks like a nice early season option! Why don’t they make the same thing in a late season, more coat-like design?

The last sweatshirt I tried to make was a total failure. One sleeve was longer than the other and it fit like a sausage casing. I don’t think I would sacrifice my favorite.

I had day one camo custom make me a pullover asat hoodie. Kangaroo pocket, 1/2 zip, fleece, windblocker. Was super comfy and I sold it like an idiot. Think it was 140 to get it made.

The hoodie is about 10 years old and has several holes in it. I just need to replace it with another 1.

We'll see how the first one turns out. It will be my third attempt at making an article of clothing. The first 1 turned out ok (warm sleeping bag style sit for my son) and the second is a super warm vest. I use that around the house or out in the woods. I made those with my mom's sewing machine and it could barely handle the material. I figure my Juki should work much better.

Oh man, this site is going to be a problem! Stuff looks awesome!

It is good stuff, all I have is the hood, it's amazing as an insulation layer!

They recently moved some of their production to Thailand, my hood is one of the older NZ made ones but they did drop the price a good bit. I haven't heard anything about a decline in quality though. I wouldn't hesitate to buy any of their Thai made items.

I tend to use KUIU stuff. Wait until they have a 25% off sale and it’s not too pricey. Their kenia hooded jacket is super quiet for a stand alone piece. I typically wear their guide hooded jacket and then throw on a down jacket underneath it once I get to my hunting location. Best to have a layering system on public land where your hiking in a bit to hunt. Technically these are hooded jackets not just hoodies.
