2002 4cyl Tacoma with a fiberglass cap and roof
Rack. I keep all my gear in totes, so I can remove them and sleep in the back. The cap has sliding windows with screens in them. It’s a simple and effective rig. Sadly I think this is its final year as the frame is damn near rusted out.

My dad put a deer in the trunk of my restored 65 Chevy II. That was in 1989 and I still haven’t let it go.

Anyone had any experience with a jumping jack tent trailer. Looking at the 6x12 with 8 ft tent....used if possible. Wondering how they stand up to rain/snow and wind.

‘08 ridgeline. Don’t care for the new models, but wish I could buy a brand new one like this one. 282k miles and not real pretty , but am in no hurry to get rid of it. Honestly, I keep threatening to upgrade and when I do, I’ll get a lifted 4x4 of some sort. This one works pretty well and with the trunk in the bed, I keep a bunch of stuff and am ready to be stuck for a few days at least

I put my first deer in the trunk of my 2014 Honda civic a few years ago, but the 2014 Tacoma I have now is a much better hunting rig and with a hitch mounted bed extended hooked up in roof rack mode, also doubled as my skinning/quartering post. Don't have to take the kids booster seats out to fit my gear any more either lol. I have no plans of parting with this truck any time soon, though I do plan to start quartering in the field and packing instead of dragging and quartering at home. I likely won't be hunting on days I have kids at home any more so there will be no bedtime deadlines to get home next season.

2 things, you must have no gumbo where you hunt or those fenders would already be gone but what is the waste basket for?

I've never driven a rig, but my truck is a 2019 Tacoma. 6 speed for fun and a cap for storing hunting and fishing crap.

I may be getting rid of it. Wife is pressing hard to upgrade. She's still in our 2012 Highlander. She wants to upgrade to a Suburban or Expedition. I think something that large is ridiculous, but you're not gonna agree on everything.

Thing is I'm thinking about trading in my truck and driving her Highlander for a couple years. Idk, it's a tough decision. Highlander is paid off, only has 150k miles, should be easily good for another 3 or 4 years anyway. It's fine, it's not as manly or fun as my truck but should get me everywhere I need to go. And it's paid off. Objectively it's probably the right decision, unless the transmission craps the bed next month.

Butttttt, my truck payment isn't really too bad at all. I only have $9k left to pay off. I got it early during the covid insanity for a steal at $30k and 2% interest, it's still worth $32-35k now. We had two kids when I bought it, now have three. It's a squeeze getting them all in but doable. I see myself upgrading to a Tundra at some point sooner than later anyway. Might as well just dump the rest of my payments, sell the thing for a small gain, and call it a day. But I do love my Taco. Hell someday it could be my kids' first vehicle if I decide to hold onto it.

I'm still torn, we shall see. Totally listening to anyone that wants to tell me I should preserve my manhood and keep the truck.

Do not sell your taco. God bless.

Will be curious what the actual 2025 4 Runner ends up being but might consider trading the Tundra for one once they are out.

The only vehicle I regret selling is my first taco. And maybe my first SHO, but definitely the taco was a sore spot until I got another one. Keep it!
