Thanks SloMo! Did you make a hole (small slit) in the webbing itself? Or did you just work the zip tie through the webbing?

So I bought two of those loops to use as a bridge for my sitdrag saddle, guess I’ll buy a few more.. but how does this perform versus 1 in tubular webbing? You can put 11-13 mm rope in the webbing. I like the idea please don’t getme wrong, just wondering about cost effective ( heck it’s too late now , right?)

I rolled it down from the top where the ends are stitched, was tough over the stitching but smooth sailing after that. I used some bigger zip ties and were a little tougher to start but the runners finally gave in

Old man safety caution:

You’re splitting it open (just a little) to slide the zip tie in. Using tubular webbing, inserting the reinforcement (rope is safer...won’t cut into the fibers) and then tying it into a sling is more structurally sound.

Thank you for the idea! I made 7 total with WE steps and they work great. I can get to around 23' with 7. No trouble getting my feet in them because of the zip tie idea going up and down!20190501_181630.jpeg

Made 4 of these to go on my DIY Double Step sticks. It's wild how easily the zip ties slip into the aiders and how well they work to keep the loops open. I'll be running that setup this fall on the sits where I want to drag in sticks. Will run a CMI 5-step aider on my Wild Edge Stepps when I need to go in light.
