If you were going to invest in new arrows…

Sirius archery arrows come with a lifetime warranty.

Oh???
I spined a decent 10pt last year and I had to give him a couple more arrows to ease the pain...
He rolled around and broke two of them. I wonder if they'll cover that?

Did they build them? They’re calling it a hunting warranty and will only cover it if they built the whole arrow. I’ve broken a couple of the geminis at the 3D range hitting what I assume was inserts stuck in the targets. Don’t think they’d cover that but might yours.

I've got at least 10 different arrow builds.
Just keep buying and building and shooting them until your electric gets shut off. Then you know it's time to try another new saddle!

*edit* I just counted and there's only 9 that still have the qualifications to keep in circulation...

I'm gonna need sumthin' new!

Mainly I was just fishing for opinions and wanting to make sure I had not overlooked any good potential arrows. It’s been a while since I had paid any attention to the arrow market.

I settled on 5mm Easton Axis for my ongoing heavy arrow build. Price is right and components are easy enough to find locally. But there are a lot of options out there and unless you're talking premium shafts like Sirius or Grizzlystick, the differences between them seem pretty negligible. If your local shop has a suitable shaft at a price you're OK with, support your local shop.

I'd avoid any uncommon sizes, shoot something standard and readily available. I'm also a former CE Maxima shooter and this go around I went with GT Hunter's

Flying Arrow Archery has a 35% off sale going on. code: PRESEASON35. They have an arrow for everyone, plus they just released an awesome lighted nock, super bright and pricing is great.

I’m in the same boat, my CX maxima hunters aren’t around anymore luckily I got 6 doz while they were in stock so I still have a good bit but I can definitely see myself in the future having to get a diff arrow. Some of these prices nowadays for a dozen is just asinine.

I've been shooting Easton Axis for as for a long while now. I think they were released in 2004 and I started with them sometime around then. They are very durable and I don't see myself changing any time soon.

Could you elaborate on your configuration? I'm going heavy on 5mm 260-spine shafts, and was advised that this might not be durable enough.

I'm probably not the guy to advise on a heavy arrow setup. I'm shooting 300 spine with 75 grain insert with 125 grain heads to the best of my memory. Around 495 grain total arrow weight. I've only had one break that I remember. I spined a buck that flopped all over it. 70# bow with 29 inch draw length.

There is not a critter in North America that hasnt been killed with wood arrows. Axis are WAY stronger and plenty durable enough for any critter on the planet other than them concrete yard statues.

I found that the Easton 5mm are dynamically a heavier spine than a similarly rated Gold Tip, and my overall arrow weight exceeded my target TAW by 75 gr. up front (decent FOC though)... I used an Axis 5mm MG 300 for a TAW of ~620 gr. and I'm currently using a GT Air Strike 250 for a TAW of ~560 gr. with a much better FOC. I wouldn't hesitate to use an Axis again, just maybe personally rethink the spine. I haven't had any arrow durability issues in a long time...

Thanks! That's good to hear. I got the best arrow flight at 735gr, which surprised me, but can't argue with bullet holes...
