Individual broadhead hoods

So putting an individual cover on and off 5 arrows and keeping up with those covers will be easier then popping out the 5 arrows and popping them into the other quiver? You're just piddlin now:tearsofjoy:
You're right. I'm always piddling around with something. :) I mean, I've got a perfectly good bow stringer that gets the job done but hey... wouldn't it be nice to have one made out of 1.75" webbing?

Good try, but I lost my bow stringer and it wasn't perfectly good any way(it was a string with knots in it) so I was required to make a new one, dontcha know! It's not the same!

I'm not being critical of your desire to have back quiver man, I was just teasing, playful banter. I also don't stick to the formal definition to piddling, so if thats the way you understood piddling and it was offensive I am sorry. I meant it more like (messing around with stuff that didn't really need messing around with, wasting time, etc.) I didn't mean you were always being pathetically trivial. I piddle with the best piddlers and a lot of times I change stuff just for the sake of changing it with no functional gain to performance. That's why I asked previously, would you like us to help you figure this out because it will be the most efficient/effective/easiest/etc. or just because its what you want to do, either are acceptable and understandable.

P.S. If you need a bow stringer or another bow stringer, I got you.

Ha. Looks like our definition of piddling is the same.

Honestly, just trying something different and trying to get some constructive feedback. Thank you for yours. :D

Ok I got one more idea for you. What about instead of covers you use say 1” plastic tube to run the length of the bag. Not pvc because that would be to heavy, I’m talking like 1/16 or 3/32 thickness plastic tubing. I imagine them sitting neatly next to one another in the bag and would make them easy to grab and insert with cutting anything.

You can get some lightweight 3/4oz tooling leather and wet form to broadhead shape. That is the easiest and ecominal way to do it. I done it for 3 blades and 4 blades and 2 blades. You don’t even have to sew just glue. Make a paper pattern first then cut out on to leather and wet it and wring out and use clips to hold it 24 hours and attatch a cord to end do a couple covers and attach

Not sure this is the solution, but a vet tape roll holder is almost the right size for a Magnus. 20210716_143621.jpg

My first thought was like this, kinda... but used Rx bottles. Could probably cut a U-shaped notch in the cap, fit your arrow shaft in the notch, screw the bottle on over the sharp bits.

Problems (and why I didn't comment it earlier): you gotta fiddle with them to get the cap/bottle off when you need them, they'll probably rattle, and they might transfer the tiniest bit of pharmaceutical goodness to the blades/target - which means, other than the gaping hole in its side, your deer might get a smidge of lower blood pressure, or allergy relief, or a stiffie, depending on your own Rx predelections.

Can't hunt with poisoned arrows in VA :tearsofjoy:

Great idea though!

Not trying to be funny here but how about a strap on? I have an old but good Screaming Eagle that has two velcro straps, its very heavy duty with a leather broadhead hood and an adonized aluminum frame with a rubber gripper. Fits on a lot of different bows. How about moding your existing quiver to do something like that? Also, check out Creekwalker Quivers they have bolt on and strap on look very well built. A bit pricey though but seem nice.

I want a tiny, two arrow BH quiver for my longbow. Like the strap-ons out there but tiny and simple.
Alaska bow hunting supplies I think still makes those or you can go and make a dean torges style 2 pc quiver. Easy as hell to make I use to use them on my self bow I gave mine away or I would post a pic

Toying around with trying to make a back quiver work this year while afield and I'm running into an issue when extracting arrows with broadheads. The bleeder blades on my 4 blade Magnus Stinger Killer Bees slice the side of my flattened 600D quiver when I draw an arrow while the quiver is on my back. If I remove the bleeder blade from the broadhead's ferrule, extraction of an arrow becomes much easier since there's less resistance (because the broadhead is flat at that point).

I'm wondering if someone makes, or has ideas regarding how to make, individual hoods for broadheads with bleeder blades. I've seen some that are made out of leather, but the ones I've come across are for 2 blade broadheads. Maybe someone would be interested in trying to 3D print some?
Would these work, Razorback 5 broad heads used to come with these, you can have them if you want them!A1E37391-CBCA-4CBB-9A9F-5799E6B9B1BE.jpegA1E37391-CBCA-4CBB-9A9F-5799E6B9B1BE.jpeg

How about flex seal, silico or something similar? Make a cast out of the play-doh, pour some flex seal around it what ever to make some kinda slip cover?

If I use something in a back quiver, which is rarely, I use these. For the most part, though, they stay in the side stalker quiver. I will say that a good back quiver, one that collapses in the middle, doesn't work too well with anything other than 2 blade heads...
