Input needed, looking at light hang ons for all day sits

So there are no teeth to grab the tree. When you enter and leave the stand is it rock solid? You haven't had any issues with side slipping?

Just curious. (Actually really wish I hadn't found this thread because I was committed to not buying any more gear, but now I need to attend the support group meeting tonight.)
I had one back in the day and it didn’t budge.

I was skeptical about how it would grab to the tree, but I find it to be rock solid getting in and out of. I simply tighten the strap with the stand folded up, shove the stand down to take up any additional slack, then cam the platform over. It’s usually rock solid with no side to side play. If it does have play, I just fold it back up, lift up and tighten the strap a little more before caming again. Works like a charm.

Anybody interested in a video demonstration? I also have the pack for it.

I’d check out the video. I have a hard time picturing it being solid in a crooked tree, particularly one that is leaning sideways in relation to the stand. I like how it integrates with the pack though.

never had any issues...its pretty freaking solid.

Does anyone know the seat height right off hand? Sorry if it's been mention.

They originally came in 17” or 20” seat height. I’ll measure mine and report back.

I believe I recall @kyler1945 used some kind of an adjustable amsteel rope mod in place of cables on a stand. Could be a good mod for this stand to give it adjustability.

It’s easy cheap and has lots of advantages. Just remember - rope doesn’t like sharp metal. Hard to screw up but the cost is high. Don’t be an idiot.

Executed properly it’s lighter quieter and stronger than steel cables.

I would definitely like to see a video of the stand. As far as leveling features for me I need that option. Recently found a great tree with lots of cover in a perfect spot. Could not get my Wingman situated comfortably and safely in position I needed. Next time out I brought my Assault 2 and was able to make it work, the stand was still kicking up more than it should have been at its lowest leveling position. I have a Millenium M7 also and I’ve only used that stand a few times because lack of leveling feature.

I've heard there is no leveling feature, but I will let others answer that one.

If it doesn't and as an option, I've carried simple, cheap and light wood shims to level up a 3 legged stool I used to use in hilly terrain. If it was a spot I was going to use a bunch, and at that time it was, I would also carry electric tape to tape them together so I could just pull them out of my pack. Otherwise you are guessing how many shims did I use to level this spot last time.

I realize my application was a stool on the ground, but hopefully hanging a stand and leveling wouldn't be too much more different.

I would love to see a video of the pack in use. I found a WW for $85 on FB marketplace. I was pleasantly surprised with how solid it was on a tree. It has my full confidence. Mine needed new cables anyway, so I modded it with amsteel daisy chains and shoulder bolts. Works amazing!
