My buddy and I have been buying preference points in Iowa for a few years now and are at the point of trying to research/schedule a hunt with an outfitter. We are both from Louisiana and have limited experience in the hunting in the Midwest let alone Iowa. Looking for any pointers or recommendations on how to get started on this journey which is a few years out.

I have googled a number of outfitters but looking for some personal experiences. Any advice (good or bad) would be helpful.

Doing the same here for the same reasons....Hope to do Iowa fall 24 but haven't seemed to find too much info in this group! I just feel this group is much more DIY based (not a bad thing). With zero experience outside the extreme SE, just not confident enough to go all in on 5 years of point collection to roll the dice on such a foreign habitat and topography. I hunt perfectly flat land that's swampy! lol
 
The question was Iowa Outfitters.
I have none but I was in a private club that had leases in Iowa. When that closed, I started hunting public.
I used a outfitter in SD years ago and hated it. IMO, outfitters take all the hunting out of hunting.
I have 3 points, pull another this year. Not sure how many I will need for my secret zone, LOL.
 
I would definitely consider these three. All three of these outfits have a lot of good ground across SE Iowa. All three have been around for a long time.
