Is it too early to see rubs?

Is this normal or a little early for your area?

Spencer
This is a little early for here.
Normally starts around September 1st.
It seems like the younger bucks shed velvet earlier than older bucks.
This buck looked like a 2.5 year old. His body looked a little more developed than a yearling.

Early rubs especially near known bedding is exactly what you want to find. Likely in his core area. No better intel than that for killing an early season buck.

We checked cams on a buddy's farm this weekend and had a 5.5 y/o buck that was hard horned. Earliest I ever remember here and for sure would not have been expecting a mature buck to be shed this early. Shedding normally starts early Sept here as well.
